In A Party Mood

I have a shot at throwing a get-together involving…:

  1. Guns, and
  2. Beer

…in that order, and that order alone.   It’d be on a Saturday afternoon, sometime in the next couple of weeks.

Just thought I’d throw out a trial balloon to see if anyone’s interested?

  1. All winter, I sat around cabin-bound, waiting for someone to suggest something fun. Now that I finally have a couple of out-of-town commitments, you throw a shooting party. It’s like rain on my wedding day.

That’s okay, I’ll catch the next one. Oh, and remember Katie who wanted to attend a shooting event but couldn’t because she was moving? I promised to spring for her cost so I still owe her one. If you have her address, Mitch, please let her know about this event and if she can make it, I’ll still cover it.

You know, scholarships might be a good way to get more people to attend. What’s a box of .38 Specials cost – about $25? Cheap, if it brings another shooter into the fold, especially women and minorities who traditionally have been under-represented in the shooting sports.

  2. Joe, I suspect Mitch has access to our calendars and does this on purpose. I am also out of town next week and have a couple of new firearms that need exercising. Damn you, Mitch!

  3. There’s a combination sporting goods store-liquor store in Prairie du Chein Wisc. The slogan on the shirts they sell…..”Mixing guns and booze since 1948″.

  4. Remember, I am a member at OGC and we can get together there if the weather is nice and ground is solid enough so we won’t need hipwaders to get to the targets. And, if you finally pick a weekend I am actually in town!

  5. Just Plain – my name finally rose high enough on the waiting list to be considered for membership. New Member Orientation is the end of March. It’s a beautiful range, did my CCW renewal shoot there, can’t wait to get back.
