We’re Not Good Enough; We’re Not Smart Enough
By Mitch Berg
Al Franken has spent most of the time since the election far outside the state he purports to want to represent in the US Senate.
But he’s got time to go on Marty Owings’ “Radio Free Nation” tonight.
Might be worth a call. See if he remembers anything about the state he wants to “represent”.

Call him, Mitch. Get Swiftee on the line too.
Bwahahahahahahahaha!

7:40: Craigslist Ad of the Week call: Lame. The caller Josh is more coherent than Marty.
7:43: Marty complains that jobs that help the most pay the least. Capitalism bashing. What a surprise.
7:45: It hurts us!

He’s a helluva lot more Minnesota than Normie,
And Lassie, I like and respect Mitch, but I’ve met and discussed issues with Franken AND Coleman, and with all intended respect, Franken would hand most (virtually all) neo-cons their asses in anything like an in-depth discussion on any issue which didn’t start and end with the 2nd Amendment. The laughter that would be heard if Tom Swift talked to Franken about an issue which was actually an ISSUE rather than Swiftee attack BS, would be entirely from the fans of Franken AT Swift.

You are a riot peni! The only time that Franken begins to sound like he’s making sense is when is research staff from Harvard writes a book for him… & even then it’s sketchy.
I know he make sense to you, but that doesn’t really impress me much.

D – your comment about Franken is of course, purely subjective, and you didn’t in any way back it up – you may have taken a page from Swiftee there – I have in the past provided my reasons for what I feel (conversely).
However, let’s look at it this way – you back Michelle Bachmann (I’d guess) – I wonder, between a razor-sharp wit, and Harvard Grad (Franken), and a person who is continuing embarrasment both to CD6 and Minnesota, I wonder which one is likely to win a discussion on point?
“My (choice of) words may not always be right” – she can’t even express an idea correctly, and it’s a LOT more than words that aren’t right. She certainly appears to be concerned about ‘disappearing rich’ more than disappearing middle-class. She is the Marie Antionette of our age – if the middle class do not have bread to eat, let’s worry about the quantity of cake available to the cake-eaters. She blamed blacks for the housing crisis, this woman is an idiot – and she can’t be made to look good even by a team of Harvord students.
This woman is, to quote Mitch, like Pat Buchannon, someone whom the left might want to invent, if she didn’t exist, but of course, like Buchannon, we don’t have to invent her.
So, as far as impressing you, given that you prefer the vapid Hudson Barbie intellectually over Franken, I’m not sure impressing you is something a smart person would be concerned about.
February 19th, 2009 at 8:44 am
BTW – if the ‘rich’ who disappared did so as a result of investing in companies that lost money in the market, my reaction is ‘too f’in bad’. I don’t mean to be heartless, but them’s the risks, and you (the rich) are the ones who organized this game (all the while not giving a crap about disappearing good jobs), if you get burned playing it, don’t cry your alligator tears to me.

I was thinking of starting a chapter of the Boys and Girls Club. Think the FrankenSenator would mind contributing?

Maybe we should indict Palin as a tax cheat as you all called Franken (who didn’t underpay one dime in total).
February 19th, 2009 at 9:50 am
How much did Al have to back pay?
He knew he had to pay the taxes, but he let go for years… until caught.
Per-Diem pay is a totally different animal, some is taxable, some is not…at all. & it’s not always clear which you are getting. I get Per Diem pay,so I know.
Palin probably owes about $3500, at the most.
So pull your panties out of your crack, whipe the tears out of your eyes & get back on topic.

Mitch, you’ve got to give us a bit more notice. I hate to miss an opportunity to pin Porn-O-Rama’s ears to his head.
Peevee, Zippy called. He says it’s OK to come home now.

Can’t respond on the many, many Franken embarrassments so you deflect to Palin?
Lame, penigma. And quite off topic.
You don’t even know (or care apparently) what a neo-con is, but you use the word in every other post. Your opinion is valued here, but that value may be a negative number. :-/
February 19th, 2009 at 10:53 am
$10 says he thinks “Neo” means “Nazi” in Latin.
February 19th, 2009 at 11:51 am
He’s a helluva lot more Minnesota than Normie
Um Peev, Normie was Mayor of the capital city. He’s actually worked in Minnesota. Carpetbagger Al has worked Minnesota, but he hasn’t worked here in over 30 years.
February 19th, 2009 at 1:34 pm
who didn’t underpay one dime in total
But what about workers comp insurance for his employees?
February 19th, 2009 at 1:44 pm
I forgot that workers comp insurance was separate from the tax deal! That totaled in the millions.
$70,000 was what he back paid in total taxes, so when our village idiot says “who didn’t underpay one dime in total“, ‘…in total’ should be ‘…eventually, once he found it beneficial to finally pay’.

Wrong guy, Peev. I’m Mr. D. This is my first comment on this thread. Guess we all sound the same to you.
Just an FYI; Bachmann isn’t my concern. She represents the 6th and I live in the 4th, which means I am represented by the brilliant Betty McCollum. But bringing Bachmann up on a Franken thread means you’re not only addressing the wrong person, but you’re off topic, too. And the Palin business is even further afield, especially since Mr. Shirt (who actually wrote the post you’re responding to), didn’t bring up the subject of taxes at all.
So to sum up — you’re not paying attention, you’re off-topic and you’re rambling. It’s a trifecta of FAIL! Congratulations!
February 19th, 2009 at 2:25 pm
HA! I saw “D” & totally ignored his post, figuring he dodged me again!
February 19th, 2009 at 2:30 pm
Okay now I read it… As usual it’s a waste of my time.
Peni, If Harvard grad= sharp wit & intelligence, then you better admit that G.W. Bush is a genius, since he’s a grad of both Harvard & Yale. & he got better grades than Gore & Kerry… probably Obama too, but he won’t release his transcripts. GEE, I wonder why?
February 19th, 2009 at 2:32 pm
And FWIW, You RARELY if ever post any supporting evidence. Only a high paid, high power Democrat can use that Jedi mind trick. And as Obi Wan said, it only works on the weak minded.
February 19th, 2009 at 3:29 pm
Shirt,
It was on topic in that you all were going after Franken, and here’s Palin owing $17k – not $3500, but since when was the amount the issue?
She OWES, not from X to Y, but in total – I don’t think she’s a cheat, she’s just NORMAL,like Franken, on taxes… except that HER taxes are far easier than his, he has an enormous number of income streams.
February 19th, 2009 at 3:44 pm
Peni,
Do I have to teach you how to read too?
“…the Associated Press estimates she owes taxes on more than $17,000 in per-diem expenses.”
Perhaps you WISHED it said:
the Associated Press estimates she owes more than $17,000 in taxes on per-diem expenses.
But it just doesn’t.
Now as far as being on topic… The topic is ‘Franken on radio show’
February 19th, 2009 at 3:52 pm
Didn’t Franken say he over paid taxes in his home state; MN was on the list of states that Franken didn’t pay enough.
’nuff said.
p.s. A neo-con is a former liberal that got mugged by reality.

Not sure what the heck that was but my PC decided it was backwards day.
That says:
I’m confused, is that the sound of birds chirping, or crickets chirping?
