…of the Instapundit straw poll that showed a convincing (if meaningless) lead for a ticket I’ve quietly dreamed about, I figure that’s an idea I should copy.
So here we go; the first Shot In The Dark Straw Poll.
(and not likely the last one of this campaign).

I’d support most of them for one reason or another (I even voted for “the maverick”, gagging while doing so). I actually “like” fewer than that, but there a several that I’d feel good voting for.

This poll can’t be right! The MSM says that Huckabee and Santorum are serious contenders!
Now why would they say that if it isn’t true? Maybe because they fit in the box the MSM has made for conservatives?

And because the MSM knows they have enough previous baggage/public opposition that they stand the best chance of being Romney’d in 2016.

I picked one, but like others are saying I could support several. I really look forward to watching who launches a campaign, how they perform on the trail and in debate(s). I’m hoping for a candidate that is a libertarian-conservative.

You can have some fun seeing how quickly the MSM fits the frontrunners into the stupid or evil boxes. Y’know, Palin = stupid, Cruz = evil thing.

Whomever the GOP contender is in the next election will end up being deemed as unelectable because they are to extreme.
So the establishment will push some me to democrat because they are electable. See Romney and McCain.

I heard a journalist interviewed on the radio the other day who made a point every political reporter should be making. The Democrats have moved far to left in the years since the 2000 election. Their president is the most liberal ever elected to that office. Their congressional leadership is now closer to Stalin than to Truman. Clinton’s centrist DNC is kaput. They boo the Boy Scouts, for God’s sake.
