Lipstick On A Pig
By Mitch Berg
The gun grab movement in Minnesota is going to try to be a liiiiiiiittle bit more subtle this year.
Look for more carefully-bearded ELCA ministers, and less Jane Kay. Less magazine size, more “responsibility” and “safety”.
With that in mind, “Protect” MN – the astroturf gun group run by Representative Heather The Legislatin’ Lobbyist!” Martens and supported by Joyce Foundation money – is apparently trying a subtle rebrand:
It used to just say “Minnesota Gun Violence Prevention”.
They’re trying to be less threatening, I guess…

“Carefully bearded…”
Fricking brilliant.

“Safety Prevention” – they’re just trying to be more accurate.

NW for the win! (my thought exactly when I read that one)

This is a tactic from the war against SUVs. They are unsafe. Well, unsafe as compared to certain cars. Kia SUV versus a Volvo sedan – yes, the car meets the crash test standards better. Of course, you can’t carry a stack of 2×4’s in the Volvo, or the hockey equipment for your kid and his buddy going to practice. Certain consumers are willing to trade utility for safety based on their personal situations.
Applied to firearms, yes, a house in Highland Park with no firearms is statistically less likely to have an accidental discharge. It’s also statistically less likely to be robbed than a house in Frogtown. People who live in high-crime areas trade utility for safety based on their personal situations.
That’s called freedom of choice. And it’s a bad thing. At least, according to Liberals who know what’s best for you.

Earrings on a Pig, too.
Mitch are you saying that WE are not “carefully bearded,” too? I’ve had mine (99.99% of the time) since 1968. Does that give me credibility; or is it the message that confers credibility?
Yes, indeed, they are being honest in their goal of preventing the use of firearms in legitimate/legal/constitutional self-defense, personal safety, and personal protection in their overbroad re-definition of “violence,” like the Bloomberg Bus list of names which included criminals as victims, ignoring the law and the constitution.
It appears that there was either a Freudian Slip in their choice of language; or they’re proud of it. Keep it up, Heather!

“Mitch are you saying that WE are not “carefully bearded,” too?”
You sort of answered the question yourself. Whooooole different thing.
