Re-Volt

This opening paragraph is all you need to know about why government industrial subsidies rarely work.

And how we have to keep learning – or narrowly failing, it’d seem, to learn – the lesson every thirty years or so.

Excellent observations! Despite all the evidence though, ignorant tree huggers will still put their lying spins on it.

Now come on; just because a Volt under electric power produces more carbon dioxide than a one top pickup towing a five ton trailer doesn’t mean it’s an environmental debacle, does it?
(the trick is that when you look at how power is generated, the Volt will pull a coal fired plant off spinning reserve…..we are talking about a huge amount of carbon dioxide to provide those kW-H for the Volt)
Seriously, my take on why government does things badly is the same reason we all laugh at trust fund babies like Paris Hilton and Mark Dayton; if you’re not risking your own money, you have no incentive to invest it wisely.

By the way, I don’t intend to insult Paris by comparing her to Governor Dayton!
