Tea Culpa
By Mitch Berg
As much as I razz Twin Citians for their whinging about “cold” and “weather” – neither of which hold a candle to Northern Minnesota, much less the Dakotas’ weather – I’ll make this admission here, to just you and I.
The fact that it’s 19 degrees at 9AM doesn’t bother me. Not one bit.

Centrisity commenter, Buhl, who lives in Buhl, just west of Virginia left this comment the other day:
“”Just an update:
I got -38 outside the house this morning.
Buhl | 01.16.09 – 8:26 am |””
We don’t know how good we have it down here in the southern tropics of MN *laughing*

I can only hope the cold front stalls out over D.C. until Wednesday.

heehee, Kermie, you’re so funny! I must concur with you, Mitch…that cold is for the birds…namely the penguins lol

Yeah, yeah – that was kinda cold. It sucked – but only in the context of, those of us from the True North who have bounced around a bit and ended up here in what we used to consider the Deep South – have gotten real, real soft. That’s not cool, man.
Good Lord. I’m from North of Duluth – why, when I was a kid, they wouldn’t have even cancelled school due to temperatures like we just had…
Yeah, I know. But still. We’ve got to guard against becoming a bunch of candy-ass Southern-Minnesotans. Dig?

We had -42 on Tuesday morning and today it was 7 ABOVE…oh, ’twas gloroius to be able to go outside and do something other than walk real fast to get into the car or the building. And there were some kids still walking to school all those mornings. Tough buggers.
