Raping Context
By Mitch Berg
I haven’t followed Jeff Fecke much since he left the Minnesoros “Independent”.
But he (and Megan Carpenter) were on the Prager show yesterday, talking about their allegations that Prager advocates “marital rape” (by asking women to do, please, try to get into the mood once in a while).
Oh, you can listen to the show…
…or you can take Bogus Doug’s review and run with it.
The takedown:
Jeff Fecke on The Dennis Prager Show – Wednesday, January 7, 2008: “You know Dennis, I’ve been going back over my columns back over the break and I was wracking my memory to remember whenever I said you advocate marital rape. And I was wondering if you could cite it.”
The pin:
Jeff Fecke on his own blog, talking about his upcoming appearance on The Dennis Prager Show – Tuesday, January 6, 2008: “I will be on the Dennis Prager Show tomorrow — yes, you heard me right, the Dennis Prager Show — discussing his wonderful advice on how it’s a good wife’s duty to endure marital rape.”
I don’t agree with Prager on everything – capital punishment and the value of abstinence pledges jump to mind – but for goodness’ sake, if you’re gonna mix it up with the guy, bring you “A” game. Judging by the comments, even Jeff’s audience wasn’t impressed.

I guess Fecke’s honorary uterus didn’t help him very much.

You know what they call it when a wife demands to have sex with her unwilling husband?

MoN: In our house, we call it “Thursday.”
More seriously, I was remarkably unimpressed. I think Prager’s right, mind (of course, being a guy, I kinda would), but I don’t think his actual argument is all that hard to attack.
But gross misrepresentation isn’t attack. It is, though, what often (not, by any means, always) passes for that in the local leftosphere, and is often (almost always) met by great applause from the next jerk in the circle, so to speak. After getting used to applause for such intellectual self-pleasuring, it’s not a surprise that they don’t know how to fuck around with the likes of Prager.
So to speak.

THIS.
I’ve never seen it put better than that.

Attention:
Quite possibly the dumbest post in the history of blogging.
Post forthcoming.

And what Foot said. Perfectly (if somewhat R-ratedly) put, Joel.

PG-13. You need at least 2 f-bombs to get the R.

Well, I was kinda proud of that one. I normally avoid those sorts of metaphors, but given that Prager was actually talking about sex . . .

I’m looking forward to the post, kinda. That said, while Fecke is on the case, I don’t think Robin will go for the dumbest, despite the opening left when Abdi Ayante got picked up and moved to Washington to work for the BBC. (No, I’m not making that up; they actually hired him.)

My favorite part of the show was:
Dennis: “Any decent guy with an IQ above 11 …”
I laughed and laughed.

Personally, I just think that the thought of ever having to take his shiney new honorary uterus out of the wrapper has got Jeffy all a dither.
I especially appreciated the prescience shown by this commentator:
“One more thing, you sounded like you have been emasculated.”
*Ping!*
