JR, don’t be a wise guy. Colleen and I are happy with our mates.

….Ok. We’ll waive the fee then.
Just this once.

Mefolkes-yes, I remember you. The tales of ND wasn’t it? I checked my address book and you are still in there. I cleaned out a while back and your name must have sounded interesting enough to stay in! I’d really like to see what the island looks like and the design of your place, etc. Oh, and then, you have to go and rub it in by bringing up the horses! Well, we could have a horse too (we have 60 acres), but my husband grew up with them and knows it’s not all fun…the feeding and watering at -30….the vet calls, the brattiness when you don’t ride them regularly…the calls from the neighbor when they’re out and in their field-and oh yeah…they eat lots of hay which is not free! Yeah, yeah, says I…but I’ve always wanted one and as a “town kid’ I couldn’t…poor me! He really enjoyed them (even went to the State Fair), but I can’t seem to budge him on this one thing now. And the Fjord horses are great-looking, strong little horses. Good and no-nonsense like a good Norwegian ought to be!
Yes, Johnny Roosh…we’re both happily paired off…me for 34 years now…won’t be trading in for Alaska and Fjord horses (although it sounds idyllic!).

Colleen, your e-mail in-box is flooded with photos and information about southeast Alaska.
I mucked out stable stalls for my cousin and her husband at their fjord horse farm in southern Ohio on a record hot day with very high humidity. You don’t have to tell me horses aren’t all fun. At our place in Alaska, our fjord horses will have a shelter, pasture good enough to eliminate the need for buying much supplemental feed and temperatures mild enough to survive easily without being confined during the winter.
Anyone else interested in southeast Alaska who can be vouched for by Mitch or JR is welcome to ask them to pass the request along to me outside of this blog.
