   At face value, this is one of the saddest commentaries on our society I’ve read.

   However, in fairness, it would be useful to know what exactly the “rescue” involved. I hope he actually did something proactive and really did do something brave. Still, if all he did was direct traffic or brush the survivors off after they crawled out of the car, rescue is not a correct term. People tend to exaggerate things they support. Hence all the “honor students” in the news.

   Still. I think the term would be quickly eliminated if he didn’t do something to deserve it. All in all, a very sad story.

   I would hope that actions like this penetrate the minds of many on the left with their daggers out for George Zimmerman–that they would realize that he’s more or less a decent man who bumped into a really nasty situation.

   However, the lack of substantial media attention of any sort to this lends to the liklihood that Zimmerman did do something laudable. I sincerely share your hopes.
