Zep, Maaaaan

The Goodyear Blimp is going to be replaced by the Goodyear Zeppelin.

Don’t know the difference (I did – as a result of a long jag of obsessive reading about lighter-than-air craft in elementary school and junior high)?

Well, you will.

  1. Hopefully they unveil the new airships with a stadium concert featuriing, you know who of course, along with replica Sopwith Camels trying to shoot it down as it drops “bombs” of candy on the concert-goers. Or, given the band, Geritol might be appropriate, too.

And of course, keep the darned thing away from Lakehurst, New Jersey!

    Oh, the humanity!

  3. If I could be anyone, any where, at any time, I would be a member of a Zeppelin crew in the First World War.
If we were truly an advanced civilization, the skies would be filled with Zeppelins, and we would travel over the seas in comfort at a graceful, majestic speed.
As it is, in this barbaric age, we cross the oceans crammed into tiny seats in noisy tin cans.

  4. The observation is not original to me, but I can’t pass it up….

If they use modern lights on it, it will be a LED Zeppelin

    Uhbwahahahahahahahaha……

  5. Powhatan, I don’t know about the new ones, but it’s worth noting that the skin of the old Zeppelins was metal, just like a Boeing.

I’m with you 100% on slowing down when possible. I just don’t know how practical it is to get out of “tin cans” in traveling.
