“Most Transparent Administration In History”

By Mitch Berg

Remember that one?:

Some of President Barack Obama’s political appointees, including the Cabinet secretary for the Health and Human Services Department, are using secret government email accounts they say are necessary to prevent their inboxes from being overwhelmed with unwanted messages, according to a review by The Associated Press.

The scope of using the secret accounts across government remains a mystery: Most U.S. agencies have failed to turn over lists of political appointees’ email addresses, which the AP sought under the Freedom of Information Act more than three months ago…The secret email accounts complicate an agency’s legal responsibilities to find and turn over emails in response to congressional or internal investigations, civil lawsuits or public records requests because employees assigned to compile such responses would necessarily need to know about the accounts to search them. Secret accounts also drive perceptions that government officials are trying to hide actions or decisions.

Yeah, I remember that “transparent government” crap too.  That was back when The One was going to rehabilitate the US diplomatically in the eyes of the world, if I recall correctly.

At this point only the most blinkered (that’s you DG) can avoid the reality that the Obama Administration is an ongoing criminal enterprise running, top to bottom, two sets of books. Wow are the unions folks going to be upset when they learn how badly they’ve been cheated and deceived.

Hey, as long as I get my free birth control pills and gay marriage, I don’t care what goes on. Actually I don’t know what goes on.

  5. Mr. D Says:

No, they are transparent. We’ve all seen right through them for years.

Powerline says IRS Commissioner Douglas Shulman’s wife is an Occupy Wallstreet activist and sr advisor to a left wing group that goes off on goofy conspiracy theories about the Jew businessmen Kochs.

Can any looney tune get a job in government?

My take is that I want an independent prosecutor to look at each and every email sent on these accounts, and see if it clears up questions about Fast and Furious, the IRS malfeasance recently, the refusal to try the Black Panthers twice (they pulled the stunt again in 2012), the UAW bailouts, and more. I’m guessing they will.

  8. Emery Says:

Trying to keep your emails secret when David Petraeus couldn’t should be a lesson to anyone in public service. The reality is if you don’t want something to show up on the front page then don’t say it.

Whenever I see Jay Carney in action I think of the song “Mr. Cellophane” from the musical “Chicago” (of course.)

  10. swiftee Says:

Emery Doug, you have been conducting yourself as much less the leftist nutsack of late, and I want you to know it has not gone unnoticed.

It seems that when you defer to your own thinking, rather than cut and paste proselytising you fare rather better.

Of course, we can’t forget his excellency’s promise to eliminate the lobbyists from influencing law makers. Apparently, he forgot that one, too, because five of his former staffers, including Stephanie Cutter (remember her?), are now lobbyists. Four of the five are lobbying against the Keystone Pipeline and surprisingly, one is lobbying for it. I guess that they forgot to get their strategies together.

  12. Night Writer Says:

Don’t worry, Pres. Obama will find out about the lobbying when he reads it in the MSM. Of course, they’ve got to report on it first.

Hey cupcake you’re still a winner in my book. You should reconsider chasing those crayons with the TGIF “top shelf” scotch. It’s beginning to affect your sarcasm.

Tsk, tsk, Emery is so paranoid he can’t even take a compliment!

  15. justplainangry Says:

And back on topic – it was revealed Gov official who was told to provide these addresses to AP asked for One Million Dollars! The Chicago way, baby!

  16. justplainangry Says:

dang it, there was supposed to be [cue Dr. Evil] in front of One Million Dollars.

  17. Night Writer Says:

Not a problem, JPA, I heard it even without your follow-up.
