I’ll Take A Moment…

…to send my best wishes and prayers to my friend and former NARN colleague Michael Brodkorb and his family. Michael was critically injured in an accident last night.

And whatever your political point of view, I’d urge you to do the same.

Not much information is available.

UPDATE: A demented ghoul tried to comment that I was “defending (alleged) drunk driving”. No; for starters, it’s alleged. Beyond that? The time for hashing that out is after he’s recovered.

It’s been a big day for dementees on this blog.

It is a tragic event, and I hope he recovers completely. No snark.
I would add that it appears pretty well established at this point that alcohol was involved, and that he was not wearing his seatbelt.
If that report holds up as factual, then we can only be grateful that no one else was injured. His poor family has been through so much; my heart goes out to them, in sympathy, as they would for anyone badly injured.
It does appear to be his own decisions that have caused his troubles, which doesn’t make them any less difficult for him or for those who are impacted by them.

I always thought that his sacking following the fling with Koch was plain horse crap. A private affair between consenting adults, why should it be a public concern. I wish Michael a speedy and complete recovery. Any legal issues will get sorted out later.

DG., you’re a complete ghoul and idiot. Just because you can smell alcohol on someone’s breath does not mean that they were drunk, much less drunk enough to have had his driving impaired by alcohol. He may well have been but you might notice that the cops are reserving judgement until the test results come back and you should do the same.

Brodkorb suspected of DUI? Always remember, in the eyes of Democrats: When a Republican is accused of a crime, they are guilty until proven innocent. Then they are still guilty. If a Democrat is accused of a crime, they are innocent, and there is no arguing the contrary. And, even if they are guilty, their pure white political views absolves them of even the most heinous deeds.

More information is available in the increasingly poor decisions of Michael Brodkorb…dude pissed a 0.10 at the hospital, and who knows how long after initially hitting the road was his boozy piss collected and bottled. DUI charges are currently under review. No longer alleged, straight up fact, he was getting his drink on and then hit the streets in his Subaru wagon seatbelt free, for freedom! Nerdbert, Gerdermen, Swiftee, Mitch, and the other “alleged” drunk driving apologetics above, you’re very lucky he didn’t take anyone with him.
