Mitt Romney at the Al Smith Dinner last Wednesday:
My favorite line:
Campaigning is exhausting. President Obama and I are lucky to have someone on our side that helps us get through the day. I have my lovely wife Ann. He’s got Bill Clinton.
And the last one – about politics not being the most important thing in the world? Yeah, that one too.
Who was the guy behind Romney who loved the line about the press being our guardians?
The reference to Obama’s leading from behind in the polls was great (and encouraging), but I gotta go with, “I have already seen early reports from tonight’s dinner. Headline: ‘Obama Embraced by Catholics, Romney Dines with Rich People.’”
Dennis Miller was off his show Wednesday to campaign for Romney. I presume he had something to do with Romney’s jokes.
I look forward to Miller roasting the press at the next National Correspondence Dinner.
When I heard this:
“Our President has had some very fine and gracious moments. Don’t tell anyone I said so, but our 44th President has many gifts and a beautiful family that would make any man proud.”
I thought “if only he would use those gifts for good and not evil”, but I also thought it was a kind thing for Governor Romney to say.
Angryclown agrees with you, Trojan Man. Willard strikes Angryclown as a very decent human being. How he won the allegiance of you crypto-Fascist wingnut loonies, Angryclown will never know.
Oh right, you only care about winning.
