Obamashington’s Farewell Address

By Mitch Berg

Kouba at TvM wonders – what if the Obamesseiah were the father co-parent of our country?  What would his farewell address have looked like?:

My fellow Subjects of the British Crown,

In looking forward to the moment, which is intended to terminate the career of my public life, my feelings do not permit me to suspend the deep acknowledgment of that debt of gratitude, which my country owes me.

When I pulled back our forces from Yorktown, it was because we had already been fighting for far longer than any world war I could possibly imagine. It was time to end that illegal war and bring peace, peace which can only come when we talk to our enemies.

Oh, read the whole thing already.

    Sweet!

Barakadict Obarnold would TOTALLY have sucked up to unchecked royal authority to render the military independent of and superior to civil power, to deprive us in many cases, of the benefits of trial by jury, to abolish our most valuable laws, and altering fundamentally the forms of our governments, and to declare himself invested with power to legislate for us in all cases whatsoever.

Truly, a prince, whose character is thus marked by every act which may define a tyrant, is unfit to be the ruler of a free people.

Thank the Supreme Judge of the World for the rectitude of John McCain to hold these truths self-evidence.

    Up the Colonies!

Well, if it ever got as far as Yorktown. Rummington would have sent a dozen men to cross the Delaware at Trenton.
