I’m Not Positive It Happened…

…and I don’t endorse violence against insane geriatrics…
(Language not safe for work – not even close)
…but if our idiot former governor did say “we deserve to lose some guys” at a wake for a dead SEAL, I can’t say as a defense attorney wouldn’t be justified in exercising their peremptory challenge to keep me off the jury, if I were the jury pool for a hypothetical assault trial.
Hypothetically.

Add to this Governor Turnbuckle’s history of pretending to be a Seal and it is a reasonably satisfying narrative.

Ordinarily, I’d be against a Seal type punching out a 55 year old guy. Jesse, however, sticks to his tough guy shtick, and I have no problem with a Seal taking him down. Jesse is a bully, not a tough guy, and that cannot be repeated often enough. The only way to deal with a bully is to rough him up.

It sounds like one of those stories that seems too good to be true if you dislike Jesse Ventura so I’d be cautious about believing it at first glance. How often have we seen people on both sides of the aisle rush to believe something awful about their opponents that they wished were true only to find out later that either it was a hoax or didn’t happen the way that they thought it did?
I’m going to reserve judgment for the moment until someone confirms that Ventura was asked whether this incident happened and if it happened the way that this fellow said it happened. If Ventura confirms it or does not deny it, I think it’s fair to assume it’s true. If Ventura denies it or says “that’s now what or how it happened,” then it’s a “he said, he said” unless and until some witness or other evidence comes forward.

pretending to be a Seal
It was a nebulous area in the Navy at the time, when they were transitioning UDTs into SEALs. He was definitely a UDT – and that’s no slouch, either.

Kyle did say in the interview here that he would consider Jesse a SEAL. Jesse is a bully and the last time he was on the O & A show he tried bullying the hosts when they questioned him a little too vigorously and he walked out in a huff.

I never said UDT’s were slouches, they certainly weren’t. But I wouldn’t claim a duty title from my service time that I didn’t actually hold and have in my record.

If you click on the youtube video and see the other videos that come up with it, the Seal is on O’Reilly’s show saying the same thing. The guy is promoting his book, but I doubt he’d make the claim in such public forums if it weren’t true. I would think Ventura is unlikely to discuss the story due to his embarrassment. Likely he is embarrassed by the wrong thing: He should be embarrassed by his comments to the Seals, not by getting his @#$! kicked by a Seal.

Those flying drop kicks from Jumpin’ Jim Brunzell must have taken their toll on ol’ Jesse.

You can be sure now: http://twitter.com/JesseVenturaGov.
“Unfortunate incident that could have been handled differently.” Someone should ask him if he said “You should lose a few guys.”
