Cue Bill Conti
By Mitch Berg
The Good News: First bike commute of the season. Almost two full months earlier than I got started last year.
The Better News:
- Remaining Legs: 2
- Remaining Ventricles/Atria: 2/2
- Butt: Not begging for an amputation, yet.
I’m feeling pretty good, thanks for asking.
UPDATED: So it’s been 20-odd years since I studied any anatomy.

Yay! Biking is good for you. Especially on a day like today!
i don’t get to bike this summer, because preggos aren’t allowed to do anything.
But i’m glad you’re out there! Bike safely!

“”After the terrible damage done over the past eight years, a great American reclamation project needs to be undertaken. I believe that Senator Obama is the best candidate to lead that project”” – Bruce
OK, back to bike riding. The Lovely Mrs. Flash bought a couple of those bike riding CDs. Not the workout ones, The pretend you are driving through Paris, or the California Wine valley ones. She sets up in the garage on her spinner and hits play on the DVD. She is warmed up for the commute ride already.

Nah. I care about Bruuuuuce’s politics about as much as I do Norm Coleman’s taste in music.
She is warmed up for the commute ride already.
Cool!
I was rarin’ to go during the kids’ spring break – that was, indeed, my goal for the year – but I’m not QUITE hard-core enough to get started in that kinda weather.
My goal next year: April 1, no matter what the weather!

Thanks! And it was a beautiful morning.

Heh, it’d be funny to hear JMac make a speach on Bruce’s recents CDs.

Technically, your heart has only two ventricles and two atria, I believe. But glad you enjoyed your ride.

Actually, what Bruce says is useful… just apply the (political) opposite response to his concerns.
See… music celebrities can help us. You just need to use a filter to understand their “issues”.

Well, we have Kid Rock and Ted Nugent on our side.
April 16th, 2008 at 12:48 pm
I’m fine with Ted, but ambilalent to Mr. Rock.

I dig the Kid, can respect Mr. Nugent as a guitar player, and fondly remember Johnny “God Bless Ronald Reagan and God Bless America” Ramone and Willy “Due to Gun Control” DeVille.
And the force seems strong in Franky Perez.

I claim the coolest bike ride ever.
Start at my house, go a mile through residential streets, across the highway, down Old Volcano Highway through the village, cross the highway again, go a mile or so up the Escape Road through rain forest, hang a right where it meets Crater Rim Drive, go around the Caldera a few miles and you’re here: http://hvo.wr.usgs.gov/cam3/
Round trip is about ten miles with a four hundred foot change in elevation. Erupting volcano at the turnaround point is worth at least a thousand bonus points.
