I Detect…

By Mitch Berg

…a lot of happy gambling addicts out there today:

Add it up and you had a stunning 17-14 victory by the 12-point underdog Giants in Super Bowl XLII played in front of 71,101 fans at the University of Phoenix Stadium.

Next year, the Bears, baby.

OK.  On to the serious bidness.  When do pitchers and catchers report again?

Soon?

Please?

This stretch from the Super Bowl to March Madness is always the worst time of the year, sports-wise. Bring on baseball! For the Twinkles, pitchers and catchers report Feb 17.

    Mitch,
I’ve got a ticket for the March 11 game with the Devil Rays in Ft. Meyers. That’s five weeks, and it’s also week two for the Grapefruit League. Season opener is Feb 28 or 29.

The term ‘pitcher’ this year, will be a loose one for the Twins. No Silva, no Radke, no Santana, no Liriano for quite a while. Boof is ok, Baker is passable, after that, I hope Perkins is ready to pitch 150 innings. Wow, it’s gonna be rough.

Anyone who didn’t realize the Pats haven’t covered in a LONG time, was asleep – I thought they’d win, I didn’t think they’d cover.
