Evening The Senate?
By Mitch Berg
South Dakota Senator Tim Johnson has suffered an apparent stroke.
If Johnson were to pass away, or be forced to retire, the US Constitution delegates the task of appointing a replacement to South Dakota lawmakers, who in turn, often turn that task over to the Governor. The Governor of that state, Mike Rounds, is a Republican, and both houses of the state legislature are dominated by Republicans.
Prayers, naturally, for Senator Johnson. We’d rather get the Senate at the polls.

We’d rather get the Senate at the polls.
True, but it will still be interesting to hear what the conspiracy theory kooks have to say.

First the Bushies shoot Wellstone! down. Now they use some sort of poison on Johnson. Will the evil never end? When will we get our country back?
How’s that?

DemocraticUnderground is abuzz with theories, one of which reads, “Rove has poisoned him!” (Kermit previewed this one correctly)

First of all Lassie, your link doesn’t work and second, I followed four threads at DU that talked about johnson and I found three posts that suggested some kind of conspiracy theory and two of them were obviously tongue in cheek.
On the other hand, if you go to freeperland, you’ll find dozens of posts that claim the conspiracy theories all over the liberal sites.
He had symptoms of a stroke and he had surgury to address it. Probably went in and cleaned out an artery. No conspiracy, no zany moonbats to obsess over today.

No conspiracy. Hm.
How I wish Mike Malloy were still on the air. It woulda been three solid hours of conspiracies.
As to the two being tongue-in-cheek; wow. You’ve suddenly developed the ability to detect that? Where was that when you needed it?
When did that happen?

Oh, and Doug?
You undercounted a tad.

Mitch, as you know, the response to the 327 foot buffalo was the basis for a commentary on the war – how “you” use exageration and distortion when it serves it’s purpose. Remember?
And by the way Mitch, early in the thread when I said, “…I would have thought you would be savvy enough not to be fooled by a photograph of a landmark you probably saw everytime you drove with your mom to the Piggly Wiggly.
and,
Your going to have to start signing your posts Baron von Mitchausen.
I assumed you would get that I was only busting your chops. Apparently, I was mistaken. My bad.
December 14th, 2006 at 10:36 am
No, it’s just that your chop-busting was so ingeniously disguised as anal-retentive, pedantic niggling!
You fooled me!

Mitch, you should install Tivo…
“DemocraticUnderground is abuzz with theories, one of which reads, “Rove has poisoned him!”
to which I responded,
I followed four threads at DU that talked about johnson…”
then you offer, You undercounted a tad. with a link to Baloney who cites 8 comments from two sites which A) are not DU and B) are, in one instance, are cross posted at each site.
And for the record Mitch, (if you bother to read the 8 posts) only two could possibly be considered conspiracy theory-esque. Hardly the “abuzz” Lassie suggests or the “Kooky Conspiracy Theories Fly” that that second rate hack, Drudge wannabe, Maloney suggests.

I’m guessing that’s because you automatically assume I am going to post something confrontational and inflamatory.
You should know by now (and I think that if you go back and look at my history), that I only do that in 93 out of 100 posts.

Class (or lack thereof)…
I read (last night as the story was unfolding) about Senator Tim Johnson’s (D-SD) illness and said a quick prayer for him. Later, while reading Michelle Malkin’s post on the story, I decided to follow a link she provided to the DU discussion on hi…

I’ve heard that such orneriness is often a result of possessing an exceptionally small weiner.
