Distasteful Men
By Mitch Berg
From the wayback machine, fifty ads that’d never get shown today.
The above may be the least objectionable to modern tastes.
Of course, things have swung way too far in the other direction; try to find an ad that doesn’t portray “Dad” as a moron anymore…

“Try to find an ad that doesn’t portray “Dad” as a moron anymore.”
I blame the Simpsons.

Good grief, even Keith Olbermann would be embarrassed at some of those.
Apparently even some feminists are sick of the “idiot husband” ads:

““Try to find an ad that doesn’t portray “Dad” as a moron anymore.”
In my household, it’s pretty close to the truth.

OK, Pitney-Bowes needs to apologize for “Is is ALWAYS illegal to kill a woman?”. WTF was that mad man thinking?

The oddest thing about the one you posted is that burnt food generally tastes better than Schlitz.

What’s wrong with the two women in the scandinavian sweaters grilling brats?
Some of those were pretty bad, and amazing that some one thought they would sell product.

Loren, women should be prohibited from wearing sweaters. Just sayin….

Mr D, Schlitz was like Miller Lite or some other big name mass produced beer is today. It was HUGE, until a series of unfortunate events in the 70s destroyed the entire company. Today, virtual brewer Pabst owns the label, contracts with Miller in Milwaukee to make it and it is doing quite find as a niche product.

Master;
Same thing at my house.
I once heard my daughter telling two of her friends that I her “a loveable doofus.”

Chuck,
Knew most of that. The Schlitz I remember was of the late 70s/early 80s, which was swill. And I taste tested rather a lot of beers in those day. Pabst wasn’t so good in those days, either.

Why does the Schlitz ad get me to wondering if Dog is ironing shirts right now?
