On My Way To Bloggers Row

Learned Foot is taking a poll to decide which five Twin Cities center-right bloggers, “thunderjournalists” and cellar-dwelling misanthropes should go to the convention.

The good news: I’m currently tied for second.

The bad news:  I’m tied with a fictional monkey.

A few votes would really hit the spot, ifyacatchmydrift.

Thanks.

  1. If you were ‘center right’, you might get my vote. You’re about as ‘center’ as Strom Thurmond – oh, you’re reasonably center on a couple social issues, but way out in the rightosphere on way way too many other things… If Foot’s looking for a right-wing shill, let me know, and I’ll vote for you.

  2. oh, you’re reasonably center on a couple social issues, but way out in the rightosphere on way way too many other things…

    that’s right. Hence, “center-right”; not hard-right, not “moderate” {shiver}

  3. So far, I’m liking the fictional monkey.

Of course. The monkey would help you collect quarters on street corners while you play your music box.

  4. Would be interesting to know what Peevish considers way out on the rightosphere.

If I ordered a pizza in the woods and Peevish weren’t there to hear it, would I be an extremist attack dog?

  5. “which five Twin Cities center-right bloggers”

This will be a challenge as there is only one actual center/Right blogger I know of in the MOB and that is Purple Stater. However, as long as far Right Wing Fringers like Blogger Berg claim center rightness, there is no way they can even remotely challenge my true centricalness.

  6. Sorry Mitch. You can’t demean and respect at the same time. Just ask all those nice Democrats writing nasty things about Senator Coleman’s kids down at the State Fair.
Flash is just demonstrating the maturity of the average DFLr.

  7. “The term you’re looking for is “mitch”.”

Ohhhh, so Blogger Berg is ‘mitch’, not to be confused with my good friend and neighbor Mitch, who stopped writing for this site awhile ago. They may be the same person, but clearly two different personnas. I miss Mitch on SitD!

Kermit, can you define A) immaturity, and B) DFLer; cause they are clearly inconsistent with the mainstream definitions. If you want to label me an ‘average DFLer’ then, remember, you acknowledge that ‘mitch’ is FAR from center/right. Mitch, on the other hand, may be able to argue some centrism, but he would have to start writing here again to prove it.

  8. Exactly which positions has Mitch taken that make him “far right”? Against Gay Marriage but for civil unions? Anti-death penalty? Moderately pro-life (though I don’t believe he has blogged much on the subject)? Against using taxes for subsidized light rail while bridges go unrepaired? For victory in Iraq?

  9. You’re right, Mitch hasn’t changed. I’ve known Mitch for almost 15 years, but this ‘mitch’ guy is relatively new to me.

If anything, I have actually moved more Right. I mean, how many left leaners do you know still support President Bush in the war on terror, and more specifically the Surge. Even Mitch (and I think ‘mitch’) struggle with the surge. As much as Mitch would pain to admit it, he would have to agree. Although I have no idea what ‘mitch’ would say.

  10. Can I define A) immaturity, and B) DFLer? Yes I can. The actions of the DFL at the State Fair regarding Senator Coleman’s family demonstrate they are synonymous. Your disrespect of your host on this blog shows you to be in tune with the other children in the DFL.

You have known Mitch for 15 years, and yet feel comfortable belittling him in his own house? Perhaps you presume a bit too much. I’ve known Mitch for around 2 years and can say with confidence that I am way far to his right. We both know people who are farther right than I am. What sort of purity test do you need to apply to satisfy your need for definition?

Truth be told I haven’t really paid much attention to your particular affinities Flash, but at this point I would call your judgement into question.
Now defend the DFL at the State Fair. They need it.

  11. Kermit: “I’ve known Mitch for around 2 years and can say with confidence that I am way far to his right. We both know people who are farther right than I am.”

Anybody whose first name isn’t “Darth”?

  12. Flash,

Ohhhh, so Blogger Berg is ‘mitch’, not to be confused with my good friend and neighbor Mitch,

    🙂

No, you’ve met Mitch and mitch.

“Blogger Berg” is something Eva Young concocted when she needed a strawman to throw spitballs at.
