Seems like just yesterday she was a little kid. Where does the time go?

My daughter is 5. If you ever want your heart torn out and smashed to pulpy bits, listen to “Little Moments” by Brad Paisely (if you can tolerate a song’s worth of country-western). Any father with a daughter who doesn’t absolutely hate her Dad’s guts and never wants to see him again, should be able to completely identify with that song. Hell, I’ve only had one of the things happen he talks about in the song (she falls asleep on your chest and your arm falls asleep, you want to move it but you don’t dare disturb that angelic face), but I can imagine the rest happening very easily. And I hope the rest do happen someday.
“House on Pooh Corner” by Kenny Loggins (his 90’s version, not his 70’s version) also destroys me if I think about it when I hear it.

PH,
I have no idea. And yes, it does.
BC,
Amen on all counts. Seems like last week I was rocking her and her brother to sleep in the rocking chair, and not wanting to get up to carry them to bed because I didn’t want to disturb them.

Daddy Can’t Rock the Baby, by Joe Scruggs was a favorite bedtime song for a long time when my daughter was little. It embarrasses her to no end when I start singing it these days.

Mitch-Remember the one year old you saw when you picked up that ICH record? She’s now 22, will graduate from ASU in December, and right now is in England visiting her South African boyfriend. Enjoy the next couple of years, cuz they leave really fast

Don,
I remember indeed. I just drove past that apartment the other day (my kids’ mom lives nearby) and remembered that baby.
Yowza.
