Too Stupid To Be President

Barack Obama hands Protest Warrior yet another early Christmas present:

– Barack Obama’s offer to meet without precondition with leaders of renegade nations such as Cuba, North Korea and Iran touched off a war of words, with rival Hillary Rodham Clinton calling him naive and Obama linking her to President Bush’s diplomacy.

Up next:  Obama calls Joe Biden “America’s greatest speechwriter”.

Older politicians in both parties questioned the wisdom of such a course, while Obama’s supporters characterized it as a repudiation of Bush policies of refusing to engage with certain adversaries.

It triggered a round of competing memos and statements Tuesday between the chief Democratic presidential rivals. Obama’s team portrayed it as a bold stroke; Clinton supporters saw it as a gaffe that underscored the freshman senator’s lack of foreign policy experience.

“I thought that was irresponsible and frankly naive,” Clinton was quoted in an interview with the Quad-City Times that was posted on the Iowa newspaper’s Web site on Tuesday.

In response, Obama told the newspaper that her stand puts her in line with the Bush administration.

Both parties were weighing the potential political fallout, especially in Florida, an early primary state, a pivotal general election state — and where Cuban President Fidel Castro remains particularly unpopular.

Hm. Wonder if anyone’s going to make sure that Floridians hear this?

Well, Mora from Babalu Blog will give it a shot:

If either of these idiots were elected president, Chavez and castro would roll their asses in the streets of Matamoros, to quote Tom Wolfe, and fry them up for dinner before they knew the fork was in them.

Both fools show no understanding of dictatorship, no understanding of the perpetual war against America that castro and Chavez must conduct in order to energize their own communist party bases. If there were no America for castro and his minime to scream about, the two of them would rapidly become lightning rods for all that is wrong in Cuba and Venezuela and would finally have to face the music of their own crimes. That is why the two of them desperately need an America to rail against, and why it’s sustained them for decades. A simple understanding of the warlike nature of dictatorship ought to have informed these two, but this response just goes to show how stupid and venal and despicable these men really are.

And how missing in understanding they are of the Cuban experience in Florida, where memories of the bloodsoaked castroite communist scum shooting children against a wall isn’t something that ought to ever been forgotten. Nevermind that, though, watch them come pandering for the Cuban-American votes anyway.

Anyone out there wanna photoshop some T-shirts of Obama in a Che Guevara beret, a la the iconic lefty photo?

You can thank me later.

  1. He can meet with our most vicious enemies and then declare “peace in our time”.

Okay, I’ll bring up the first Nazi reference of the day. Can never be too early for that. Rented “Triumph of the Will” off of Netflix. Wow, Hitler really was a man of peace. That’s all he talked about.

  2. Wingnuts don’t have a lot of credibility in declaring someone too stupid to be president. Pretty sure Obama can watch TV and eat a pretzel at the same time without passing out from overloaded brain circuitry.

  3. Friggin Obama. Doesn’t he know you only meet with Commie fascists who have large markets we want to exploit?!

Besides, Castro doesn’t have a good soul, like Putin.

Only Nixon can go to Havana, duh.

  4. Wingnuts don’t have a lot of credibility in declaring someone too stupid to be president.

Huh? We don’t do it every four years, like y’all do!

I mean, y’all called Reagan stupid, for stu’s sake.

  5. Not an Ann Coulter fan, but her book “Slander” was okay. Best chapter was on “stupid Republicans”. She pulled many quotes from Democrats over the years. Turns out every Republican was stupid at the time. And each one was more stupid then the one before.

Every so often I’ll see an old TV show from the 80’s, either on cable or DVD. Was a youngster then and forgot how “Reagan” would show up in comedy shows, and always be portrayed as an idiot. It seems as silly and dated now as how African-Americans were portrayed in the 1930’s.

  6. There are stupid Democrats AND Republicans? I’m Shocked! I thought stupidity was endemic in only one political philosophy.

  7. Let me get this right, you are lambasting a man who thinks that maybe engaging the enemy diplomatically may be a better tactic than ignoring them? It seems that our policy on Cuba has been an utter failure for the past 50 odds years. Castro is still in power oppressing his people and apparently “staying the course” is still the best option?

So when do we get the photoshopped t-shirts of Reagan dressed up as Ayatollah Khomeini?

Wait i forgot, apparently in the conservative play book, it is worse to try and engage our enemies through diplomatic means than to sell weapons to our avowed enemies.

  8. could be fulcrum. Do you find most conservatives stand behind selling Iranians weapons?

diplomatic negotiations only work when both sides engage in good faith. There is no point to them otherwise. How did those negotiations work out with the Japanese in 1941?

  9. “Anyone out there wanna photoshop some T-shirts of Obama in a Che Guevara beret, a la the iconic lefty photo…”

The way he’s going he might just don his own beret and Che’ t-shirt.

  10. For Christ’s sake, Fulcrum…you make it seem like the State Department has completely ignored our “enemies”, such as North Korea. Even when Hillbilly Bill was bedding his interns in the White House, he was sending Madie Albright over to see that tinpot dictator…including providing him basketballs! And but Bush administration HAS been meeting with them.

The LAST thing you want to do is have the President go over there and do a bunch of photo-ops, which will be used by our “enemies” for propaganda purposes. Osama Obama ain’t smart enough to understand that…

  11. Dave, I think your reading comprehension needs some work. Did I ever mention North Korea?

I just find it highly ironic that posters on this site go after Ellison about his remarks the previous week, but then see no problem equating Obama to a murderous socialist and a murderous Islamist extremist.

Kettle. Pot on line one for you.

  12. Chuck upchucked: “Turns out every Republican was stupid at the time. And each one was more stupid then the one before.”

I don’t recall anybody ever saying Nixon or Bush I were stupid (of course Bush I couldn’t make his way through a standard English sentence, but at least he had a bunch of experience). The rest, well, they just weren’t all that sharp, Chuck. But I realize this isn’t about politics, it’s about respect. You don’t want some fancy educated, intelligent person in the Oval Office telling you what’s what and making you feel all bad about your own intellectual shortcomings. That’s why you prefer to vote for morons.

You Republicans are like 50 million Fredo Corleones.

  13. Dave, did I ever mention North Korea in my post?

I find it high ironic that a group of posters on this site, and the blogmaster himself, attack Ellison for his remarks last week, then this week equate Obama to a murderous socialist and a murderous Islamic extremist.

Kettle. Pot for you on line one.

  14. Even Edwards thinks Obama’s plan is loopy:

“I would not commit myself on the front end openly to meet with (Iranian President Mahmoud) Ahmadinejad, (North Korean leader) Kim Jong Il, (Venezuelan President) Hugo Chavez,” Edwards told reporters in McClellanville, S.C. “I think there’s a real potential that would be used as a propaganda tool.”

  15. AC, I wasn’t around when Nixon was, but I recall how stupid and out of touch Bush 41 was portrayed in MSM. As a spry young teenager in 1986, I saw Bush 41 come to Eau Claire Wisc to campaign for Tommy Thompson (and himself it turned out).

I remember thinking “wow, this isn’t the same Bush that we see on TV. This guy can actually talk in complete sentences. Make strong points and just look like an in-charge sort of guy”. Once the MSM filters are removed, you see a totally different person.

  16. The thugs who are our enemies:

    A) Have no interest in doing anything for us

    B) Need to keep us as an enemy to hold their power, so have no interest in being nicy nicy with the U.S.

  17. Reagan didn’t engage in diplomacy with our enemies?!?!?!

    That’s news. Someone tell Gorbachev.
    (Hell, someone tell the French.)

  18. T. Sowell:

Back in the 1930s, the governments of the democratic countries knew what Hitler was doing — and they knew that they had enough military superiority at that point to stop his military buildup in its tracks. But they did nothing to stop him.

Instead, they turned to what is still the magic mantra today — “negotiations.”

  19. I remember thinking “wow, this isn’t the same Bush that we see on TV. This guy can actually talk in complete sentences. Make strong points and just look like an in-charge sort of guy”. Once the MSM filters are removed, you see a totally different person.

It’s an old story, I watched an interview with a biographer on Calvin Coolidge who apparently was a generally personable fellow and just as likely to joke and smile as the next guy. However the newspapers at the time had already decided that “Cool Cal” was a better story so whenever they took pictures of him at White House events they made a deliberate point NOT to publish any pictures showing him smiling or joking with people.

  20. Yeah, Thorley, too bad science can’t devise some medium for people to see presidents for themselves and listen to their words. I guess we’re just limited to those media-manipulated stereoptican pictures that the fancy liberal press allows us to see.

  21. Drop AC in front of 50 cameras rolling, still cameras flashing, and microphones taking in every word, and I’m sure he’d come across as the confident snark chucking clown he portrays himself to be here. Right, AC? You wouldn’t cringe like a whipped puppy, or sweat profusely, or drop your eeooga horn, or misspeak or anything. Noooooo, you’d be the same “thoughtful” orator you are here.

To say nothing of how your inevitable clownlike goofs and gaffes would be edited and manipulated to maximum effect to sell the simplest narrative.

  22. AssClown dreams:

“You don’t want some fancy educated, intelligent person in the Oval Office telling you what’s what and making you feel all bad about your own intellectual shortcomings. That’s why you prefer to vote for morons.”

So, maybe your kids won’t have to follow you into the Shoe Shine business after all!

The drooling, the buck teeth, the albinoism…bonus!

    It’s a beautiful dream..hang on to it.
