Fraud In Minnesota: We Ain’t Done Yet
By Mitch Berg
A reliable source tells me they’ve heard from another reliable source that we’re nowhere near done finding fraud in Minnesota – and that upcoming revelations about Personal Care Assistant fraud and autism services may very well drive the total into the “multiple billions”.
More to come.
Much, much more.

While it’s nice that the fraudsters are being prosecuted in court, it would REALLY be nice if even a single person in government were held accountable (A.K.A. FIRED) for either their incompetence or their complicity

The new federal prosecutor assigned to Minnesota, said that Minnesota is lost due to the amount of fraud that’s been uncovered. He said that even if he had twenty to thirty people to prosecute them all, would still take several years. If there is a way to fast track it, I would be very happy.
As a side note to Mitch, I have been unable to log in on either Safari or Google for the last five days. I’m using DuckDuckGo right now, so I guess I’ll switch to this browser. It’s probably better to do that anyway.

bh,
I found that deleting the 10+ cookies associated with SitD clears up the problem at least for a few days
I think one of the cookies falls out of sync and returns True before it puts up the comment box not after

I really don’t gaf how much the Sammies steal from MN; it’s just the price y’all pay for vibrant diversity and delicious tacos.
But I do care if they’re stealing money we all pitch in, which they are.
If a state isn’t competent enough to safeguard the money it gets from the feds, maybe it’s time to cut it off.

Regarding fraud, my thought is that the state’s government was built in a day when the mostly German and Scandinavian “good government” citizens could be trusted to do a task with minimal supervision–it’s akin to the small business owner who hires trusted friends and generally finds that the bonds of friendship are sufficient accountability.
What we have today is analogous to what happens to a lot of small businesses when they expand, and the pool of job applicants can no longer be limited to trusted friends–and hence the choice of the proprietor is to implement accountability structures or else risk bankruptcy.
In the case of MN, we have large pools of bad actors, combined with the DFL attitude that when things go bad, the taxpayers can pick up the slack–a situation which no non-monopoly business owner ever has.
