Appropriation
By Mitch Berg
Mike Norton the vice chair (and maybe acting chair, after this fiasco) tweeted this yesterday:
Mayor Mompants and the “Ban the Cops” City Council are “Conservative”, according to Mr. Norton.
Well, no .
“Less Communistic” works.

So he wants the city to be more like Seattle, San Fran, and Portland?

Since when did hordes of nepo-babies employed by non-profit vanity projects funded by narcissistic billionaires, constitute “themany”?

Mike Norton is just another left wing grifter.

This explains the reason why the Twin Cities DFL is so radically Left Wing. Any deviation from radical-left orthodoxy is met with a challenge from the left. Since the DFL candidate will always win the general election, the real action is in the low turnout DFL primary, where the winning candidate must cater to the activists.
Same dynamic in the GOP, of course, but because the GOP doesn’t win metro elections, it’s a moot point.

Mpls for the Many… huh. Won’t deny that Norton’s tweet is fascinating in its craven stupidity – er, sorry – craven cynicism about the political parties of Mpls and its gullible voters.

They are happy to pay for a better Minneapolis.
Good for them. I applaud grassroots community activism. I hope they succeed.
First step when they take power, go door-to-door purging those icky conservatives. Second step, build a huge fence around the city to keep them from sneaking back in. Third step, change the name from Minneapolis to Utopia. Fourth step, there is no fourth step. we’re done. Everything is perfect.

There is an old saying: Politics belongs to those who show up.
The problem is, the DFL is so crazy that only crazies show up.

I was wrong. Fourth step: fill The Ditch.restore rondo as a vibrant community and a firebreak so that people can’t sneak into Minneapolis from the East

Politics belongs to those who show up – and their imaginary friends.
