Schiffed

By Mitch Berg

One of the things about having one’s party in the minority is that, free from the possibility of having to try to craft compromises to pass legislation, they can submit legislation that reflects their core principles to a T.

When the GOP is in the minority – as it is in the MN House and Senate? Then you see bills that make you wonder “where was that kind of thinking when the Republicans controlled the gavel?” Of course, it’s easy to stand on pure principle as the minority – it’s all for the campaign lit in the next election.

Parties in the minority submit legislation that reflects their inner id.

WIth the GOP in the minority, you get solid conservative, even daringly libertarian proposals.

WIth Democrats in the minority? You get attacks on core liberties.

Adam Schiff and his fellow Dems dream of gutting the First Amendment. He and his cronies are proposing to reverse Citizens United – which ended speech rationing for non-union corporations – and re-regulate political spending, which is political speech.

Of course, they’re in the minority, for now:

It’s just a political stunt, of course, as Schiff doesn’t have the votes. But it does reflect the authoritarian outlook of the contemporary left on free expression. From the day the decision came down, 13 years ago this week, Citizens Unitedwas a rallying cry for those threatened by unregulated discourse. President Barack Obama infamously, and inaccurately, rebuked the justices during his State of the Union for upholding the First Amendment. Since then, Democrats have regularly blamed the decision for the alleged corrosion of “democracy.”

“Democracy”, in Democrat usage, is losing meaning almost as fast as “White Supremacy”.

CNN…like I said. 👆 see? CNN dot com Your people.

You’re not helping improve the appearance of Uke nitwits, Bikebubble.

  2. Blade Nzimande Says:

You really need to put a UKE flag on your profile, Mr. Bubble….God knows you’ve earned the same respect the rest of your nitwit clan gets.

And give yourself a BLM and Rainbow flag, too. You’re intersectional AF! Hahahaha!

Ah, more news reports from seven years ago, when Russia started their vile invasion of Ukraine to keep their murderous, thieving puppet stooge in the halls of power.

Do you never think of what Yanukovych actually was when he was in Kyiv, Dullee? Will you never connect the dots and realize that the corruption that has plagued Ukraine was coordinated from FSB HQ in Moscow?

  4. Blade Nzimande Says:

    Of course…it’s an inside job!!

How could I have missed it?

Thank you, Mr. Bubble, for setting me straight.

    i
    just
    do not
    care about the
    political posturing
    here is the current map
    does not look much different
from the map when the war began
after lesko biden gave putin the green light
for a limited incursion to take what he wanted
and has held for a year despite sanctions and aid

    https://storymaps.arcgis.com/stories/36a7f6a6f5a9448496de641cf64bd375

    The war is over
    ukraine lost
    admit it

  6. John "Bigman" Jones Says:

i invite anybody who thinks ukraine can win
to tell me what ‘win’ means in this situation

does it mean russia retreats to the pre-invasion borders
and pays reparations for war damages

does it mean russia keeps what it took but stops
bombing and killing ukranians outside those areas

if we do not know what win means
how will we know when we win

and then i would appreciate learning the strategy
that will make it happen not specific details and timetable but
broad brush stroke ideas on where and when and how

because promising a few tanks, a few missiles, a few dollars
does not sound like a strategy for victory so much
as a hope to string out the war to
    avoid defeat until just after
    the election is over
    in 2024

It’s already begun. Opening gambit (by NATO) is the Russians retreat to pre 2014 border (return of Crimea and Donetsk to Ukraine). This is a joke, Putin will never give up Crimea, and the populations of Crimea and Donetsk are pro-Russian.
Zelenskyy cannot survive as Ukranian president if he agrees to a negotiated peace. He is all in.

Another point of reference regarding the KGB/FSB; Patriarch Kyrill served as a Soviet spy while living in Switzerland in the 1970s. It’s hard for those who never experienced it to understand the pervasiveness of the security apparatus–there is a reason that Germany opened up the Stasi databases when freed from Honecker. Everybody who experienced the Stasi knew that the future freedom of Germany depending on opening up the files so everybody would know exactly who was part of that apparatus an dhow they did things.

Unfortunately, that was not done in Russia, and thus the FSB has free rein to ply its trade, especially in nations where Russian is spoken. Don’t forget for a minute whose troops were lined up on the border when Yanukovych was ousted, and don’t forget for a minute where he went. Don’t forget what induced Yanukovych to break his campaign promise to see greater interaction with the EU. Do the math. What agency did Vladimir Putin work for before becoming the leader of Russia?

Regarding the outcome of the war, it will end, Lord willing, as Russian families get ticked that the lives of their sons were thrown away for a war started on pretenses that can only charitably be described as BS, and hopefully their retribution against the FSB will be savage.

  9. Blade Nzimande Says:

Bikebubble warned: “Unfortunately, that was not done in Russia, and thus the FSB has free rein to ply its trade, especially in nations where Russian is spoken.”

And then prophesied: “hopefully their retribution against the FSB will be savage.’

So one the one hand, the FSB is a group of all powerful super spooks, lurking around every corner. On the other hand, they are witless fodder, waiting for the Revenge of the Babushka’s.

This is a perfect example of the kind of confused, inchoate though process that results from defenestrating critical thought in favor of from swallowing the proven MSM and government liars latest “Muh Rushins” bullshit in steaming chunks.

  10. bikebubba Says:

Witless babushkas? No, Swiftee, I don’t think you’re part of the FSB, though at times you seem to be getting your news directly from them. And no offense to witless grandmothers out there by associating them with Swiftee.

Really, I don’t believe I I or anyone else sees the FSB or its predecessor as “witless”, nor the East German Stasi. However, in the latter case, there was a blessed time in history when the fear of the Stasi became less than the anger at what they’d done, and at that point, HQ was invaded and controlled by citizens who wanted those records made public.

It can happen in Russia, too.
