Your optimism is naive. Notice that the police aren’t involved and given the perverse state to which the English justice system has mutated, those clearing the roads are actually the criminals. God forbid any of them have written a mean tweet or passed on a non-diverse meme on FB.

If the police won’t do what the people want them to do, the people will do it for themselves.

the cops did nothing to clear the london street citizens did that
at home the police escorted blm protesters to keep them safe from citizens
the drunken sheriff gets a pass
the fbi is rounding up political enemies
there are more federal agents authorized to carry guns than marines
law enforcement is not on our side
law enforcement is on the side of whoever holds their pension
that makes them accompolices to the forces tearing down society
and that makes law enforcement officers legitimate targets when the pot boils over which should terrify every citizen because after the cops are laid to rest the only forces of order will be citizens vigilence committees competing against gangs to control their neighborhoods
wake up coppers it used to be rich people looked down on you and criminals despised you but the middle class respected you and protected your privileges but now you are pissing away that goodwill and will be left surrounded by enemies how stupid can yo be

Your optimism is naive
a) at this point, it’s more approval than optimism, and
b) as UMMP points out, and as I’ve been predicting for a couple years, if the system won’t provide order in exchange for all our tax money, people will do it themselves. I won’t say that notion is entirely optimistic.

I accept the point that you and UMMP are making. The problem is that in much of the west and certainly in the UK, the justice system is so perverted that it protects those protesters (and groomers and knife-armed thieves) instead of the “normies”. That is, people are going to have to “defeat”, as it were, the justice system *before* they can resolve the issues of criminals.
Let it not be said that I’m picking on the UK, the US is right behind with Biden’s Praetorian Guard going after anti-abortion activists and J6 protesters, BLM thugs destroying property and lives w/ no consequences, electoral shenanigan w/ no consequences, and Jackson Sparks is still in ground while the WI justice system figures out how to give Darrell Brooks a slap on the wrist.

is it legal to block traffic on that road if not why are the cops protecting the road blockers instead of arresting them and clearing them off
england has no first amendment and even if they did that doesn’t give you the right to commit crimes oh hey i shot that guy to protest tax cuts cant arrest me
the cops are not part of teh solution which means they must be part of the problem wait until some frustrated motorist pulls a rifle out of his pickup gun rack he wont be aiming at the people on the ground he will be aiming at the people protecting them and i dont blame him one bit

BLM idiots were blocking Snelling Ave during the State Fair a few years ago. Pre-Floyd and pre-COVID. The cops did nothing except lead and follow them. No permits by the way. When I finally got off at Como I yelled at a hapless female cop about the delay. “Where’s your tear gas?” I said. No answer, of course.
