Is There Anything Kristi Noem Can’t Do?

By Mitch Berg

Name something a Republican governor – especially a conservative woman, given how Berg’s 16th Law works – can do that a Democratic governor can’t?

Easy – get “journalists” to report on government!

In this case, the relentlessly Democrat Sioux Falls Argus Leader:

If a Republican beats Tim Walz this fall, I suspect the Strib will develop a similar interest.

I admit, I don’t wanna read the article but I don’t understand. If the “funding and focus” is already present, what does a governor do to hinder or prevent repairs/upgrades from taking place? Command the “highway dept” to not perform work?

I sure hope Walz loses and the Strib develops that interest. I’m dodging potholes like I was driving in Michigan these days.

To the specific question, though, it strikes me that one of the big things that is slowing down road repairs is the same thing that slows all of us down–petroleum price increases and supply chain. Too bad we have a President that doesn’t think having a good supply of oil is important.

Any Republican governor in MN will be branded by the media as a “Florida agent”.
