Not sure if they’re trying to foment a civil war.
If they were, what would they be doing differently?

Milbank was driven bonkers by the election of Trump in 2016.
He convinced his half-Jewish daughter that Trump’s storm troopers were going to throw her in camp. Maybe she would be bunk mates with Trump’s daughter and grand children?
Not that bonkers was ever a long way off for Milbank. Back in the Obama years, he wrote an 800 word column on then house whip Eric Cantor’s sneer.

Journalists love to claim that their opinions are facts.
The “authoritarian” Trump never imposed a vax mandate.
Most of the people who claim Trump was authoritarian can not provide examples of his authoritarian actions.

After reading the top ten articles returned by a google search for Trump+authoritarian, I came up with the following concrete examples of Trump’s authoritarianism. None of them pass the smell test.
-Disputed election results (The Dem’s did this in 2000, 2004, and 2016 — in other words, every presidential election they lost since 1988).
-Called the press the “enemy of the people” (Obama spied on journalists and sent their sources to jail. Trump did not).
-Tried to get the Ukranians to finger Biden (Pales in comparison to Obama appointees ginning up the “Russian Collusion” hoax, and in any case, the Ukranians didn’t cooperate, it didn’t work).

I am smiling at the difference between how an observant Jew describes being Jewish, and how Gentiles might trace it. Their club, their rules, I guess.
But to the point, one would hope that Milbank’s employer would notice his disconnect with reality and at least rein him in. That’s a big part of why sane people don’t trust the media anymore. Insane people that would previously have been consigned to the Wobblies are being retained and promoted at the Post, where Democracy Dies in Darkness. Hey, it’s their motto, they might as well live up to it, eh?

I think the problem with Jews is the race v religion thing.
Hitler erased that line when he sent people with a single grandparent who had converted from Judaism to Christianity to the camps.
It’s a mysterious realm, I have heard that some Jews consider Jews who have converted to Christianity to be, not Christians, but bad Jews.

As for my comment, let me explain what I meant. I am absolutely convinced Milbank knows exactly whether his daughter is jewish or not but he deliberately used that angle to advance his sick agenda. There is nothing sacred to these bastards – the ends justify the means.

I actually meant to write “bat mitzvah.” Such misspellings are the result of my vanity — I refuse to wear bifocals.
As far as I know, the mother of Milbank’s daughter, his first wife, is Catholic. Milbank divorced that wife and married a Greenberg in 2017.
Milbank’s column used to run in my local paper several times each week. He seemed to rediscover his Jewishness about the time Trump was elected.
