Bagman’s Groove

By Mr. D

Value propositions:

The Ukrainian energy company that was paying President Biden’s son Hunter $1 million a year cut his monthly compensation in half two months after his father ceased to be vice president.

From May 2014, Burisma Holdings Ltd. was paying Hunter $83,333 a month to sit on its board, invoices on his abandoned laptop show.

But in an email on March 19, 2017, Burisma executive Vadym Pozharskyi asked Hunter to sign a new director’s agreement and informed him “the only thing that was amended is the compensation rate.”

The board member’s access to the White House had been amended a bit, too, and it’s difficult to imagine Hunter’s, ahem, skill set was particularly valuable to a Ukranian energy company when his dad was a private citizen. There’s more:

Documents on the laptop also show that Hunter invited [Burisma executive Vadym] Pozharskyi to meet then-vice president Biden at a dinner in Washington DC in April, 2015.

That would be the laptop that dare not speak its name about seven months ago. While we’re not sure what was on the menu at that dinner, there were just desserts:

In December 2015, Biden flew to Kiev and strong-armed the Ukrainian government into firing its top prosecutor, Viktor Shokin, who was investigating Burisma at the time, including seizing four large houses and a Rolls-Royce Phantom belonging to the company’s owner Mykola Zlochevsky.

And there was more:

Three months later, Shokin was forced out of office, and nine months later, all legal proceedings against Burisma were dropped. Joe Biden has said in the past that Shokin wasn’t doing enough to crack down on corruption and that the push had nothing to do with Hunter’s position.

And the future Leader of the Free World said this:

In a 2018 speech at the Council on Foreign Relations, VPBiden bragged that he had threatened to withhold $1 billion in US loan guarantees for Ukraine unless Shokin was sacked.

“I looked at them and said, ‘I’m leaving in six hours. If the prosecutor is not fired, you’re not getting the money.’ Well, son of a bitch. He got fired,” he said.

Correlation is not causation, but son of a bitch, it sure has an aroma.

They actually tried to impeach President Trump for something gropey joe admitted doing on video.

    The irony, it burns.

    Slow news day @SiTD?

I follow the news primarily through the NYT, WSJ, Financial Times and look at Fox News online as well. The WSJ reported that they could not find supporting evidence for wrong doing by the Bidens so I assumed the story had ended. When the WSJ and the NYT, two large reputable newspapers with differing political slants, report that there is nothing to a story, there is nothing to that story. But note, they did write about the story so readers were made aware. Yay, free press!

You are mistaken if you think these newspapers are obliged to explain the convoluted half-baked conspiracies cooked up by other “news” agencies. The NY Post and Fox News have a reputation of taking a few facts mixing them well with opinion and innuendo and then, after chewing on it excessively, serving it up as a warmed-over hash. Not my preferred diet.

If Biden puts Hunter into a government position then we can talk about him. I seriously doubt that’s going to happen unlike the nepotism in the previous administration.

Keep in mind that Emery was wrong about the Brexit vote, The 2016 election (he predicted a Hillary landslide), and, of course, about the truth of the “Russian collusion” hoax, promoted heavily by the hoax-promoting New York Times.

Don’t believe I asked them to do anything of the sort, but thanks for playing.

See if you can find donations to Hillary’s fund for Haiti. Compare donations while she was a viable candidate to donations after, who they were from and in what amounts.

Doesn’t conclusively prove beyond any imaginable doubt that there was wrongdoing by Democrats, of course. Nothing ever does. But it’s entertaining.

So, basically they do the same thing the NYT, WaPo, CNN/ABC/CBS/NBC do, just to a lesser extent.

We get it, you don’t like journalism that doesn’t have a Marxist bent to it.

  18. Troy Says:

I think we can talk about Hunter Biden a lot more.
I mean, he did have business dealings with his dad, the President, correct?
It seems pretty insane that anyone would question that at all.

  19. bikebubba Says:

For my part, I think it would be very interesting to know where all the money went, because when Hunter was hauled into court to discuss his illegitimate child, somehow he didn’t seem to have very much money on hand. And what about the very interesting question about a guy with a clear drug problem denying that on his firearm purchase form.

And then as that opens up, I bet we learn a little bit more about his arrangements with Burisma, ’cause somebody’s name is going to pop up, and that person doesn’t want to go to jail, either.
