Safety

By Mitch Berg

Remenber the old japes about both Presidents Bush, and for that matter Trump, were utterly safe from threat of assassination, because their various Vice Presidents, Quayle and Cheney and Pence, were “even worse?”

Given Vice President Harris’s performance so far, I’d call that a retroactive case of Berg’s Law.

Power Line on the little veep who just can’t:

Harris caught a major career break when Joe Biden more or less committed to having a black woman as his running mate, leaving Harris as the obvious choice, but she didn’t seem to take much advantage of it. With the elderly, frail Biden making few campaign appearances, one might have thought that Harris would be more visible on the campaign trail. Then again, maybe the Democrats didn’t want her to expose the hollowness of Biden’s excuses for staying out of sight. In any event, her vice-presidential run seems to have done little or nothing to enhance Harris’s standing with the electorate.

Now, a YouGov poll finds Harris under water, with 41% viewing her favorably and 48% unfavorably. The Washington Examiner points out that this negative perception contrasts strongly with other recent vice presidents. Dick Cheney, Mike Pence and Joe Biden himself, in 2009, all polled quite a bit better at a similar stage.

Harris has never shown much skill or appeal as a politician. Her path to the top in California, essentially a one-party state at this point, was paved by her illicit relationship with Willie Brown. I am not sure what it is about Harris that repels voters, but it should scare the Democrats.

The current theory is that Biden will hold on until at least mid-terms,, so that Harris can run on her own twice.

Barring massive fraud and retroactive doctoring of her record, I think she’s a one-and-done, whenever Biden shuffles off.

I’ll just leave those qualifications hanging htere.

She is very unappealing, even to hard core lefties that I know. Shortly after Biden “picked”her, one of them angrily lamented that “the Democrats just gave the election to Trump!” She didn’t get any votes in the primaries.

The criticisms that I have heard is that she is not Left enough and “she’s a cop” based on her role as a prosecutor.

Dems are not worried, tho, because in their mind Republicans will never be elected again. It’s the same mistake they made in the 2016 election.

    In every major corporate headquarters, there is a reception desk staffed by a “diverse” face, usually a woman but sometimes a gay man depending on the image the corporation wishes to project;

This person is fully aware that they were picked for their diversity and are just a face and this awareness is reflected in their mannerisms.

It is pleasant for about 30 seconds, long enough for the simple transactions required at the desk.

After that – it is off-putting.

    Such is Kamala Harris.

Wait a minute. If the people who voted for a Brain Dead Dysfunctional Biden thought that was a good idea, why wouldn’t they think that voting for Kamel Toe Dumb Fuck Harris wouldn’t be an even better idea?

Time to give Biden the RBG bubble-wrap life support system.

NW; hasn’t that been in place for a while? I have yet to hear of the MSM asking him a hard question.

Regarding Harris, the thing that strikes me as very damning is that as the “czar” of border enforcement, she’s yet to hold a press conference to state a bit about what her office is doing. So although as a politician, she ought to intuitively understand optics, she’s sending out some incredibly bad views, as if her office is doing absolutely nothing in this regard.

The mistake they made in 2016 was not anticipating the head of steam the Trump Train would generate, and not increasing their vote/voter fraud to counteract the momentum. They made sure that didn’t happen again in 2020, assisted by the plandemic panic which enabled mail-in voting to become a widely accepted thing. If they get their “federalize (destroy) election integrity” bills passed in both house and senate so Biden can sign it, they pretty much will have guaranteed there will never again be a Republican president, and electing down ballot Republicans will also become far more difficult.
