Oh, Goody. No, Really. I’m Thrilled.
By Mitch Berg
After an intense evening in which both men lobbied colleagues during floor votes, the Republican caucus elected Lott, a one-time whip and majority leader, by secret ballot. Lott will be the GOP’s second-in- command to Sen. Mitch McConnell of Kentucky, who was elected unanimously to be the Senate minority leader in the new Congress.
With the midterm elections finished and Santorum, another candidate for the post, failing to win re-election, Lott cast himself as the more experienced candidate and the better choice for a job.
At least McConnell will replace Frist. That’ll be an improvment, right?
Please?

I believe that Glenn Reynolds would call this another unforced error — the GOP’s just given the Dems some potent ammunition.

Well at least he’s not a racist, black, terrorist lovin’, cop killer defending “I’m too special to meet with that President Bush” freshman congressman.
That would be a real embarassment, dontcha think?

Kermit, you left me almost speechless with your above comment. So part of the reason you don’t like Ellison is because he is black?

No no no Fulcrum… Kermit isn’t saying he doesn’t like Ellison, he’s just saying that, although Lott IS racist, the reason he likes him is that he (Lott) isn’t black.
See the difference?
