Hodges does not come off well in the article, and Harteau’s sharing of the text messages before the appointment comes off as a classic Minnesota passive-aggressive response to Hodges. But I can’t help being amused that it was the ashes of ACORN that made Hodges jump at their command. It shows you who is the real power in Minneapolis.

I really have to wonder about the political machinations here. It’s not like it hasn’t been known for a decade or more that DelMonico is a …. “polarizing” …. figure (a.k.a. lots of people hate him and wish him dead). Hearteau, having been in the MPD for a couple decades, and smart enough to make her way up to chief status, HAD to have known that a large part of the 4th precinct was going to scream bloody murder over him being given any position of power greater than animal control, and that they’d yank Hodges’ “that’s a nice voting block you got there, it’d be a shame if something happened to it” strings.

When was it? Maybe 6? Maybe 7? months ago when we were told women just did everything better than men? Because women are ‘nurturing’; and ‘listen, REALLY, listen you guys’ to other points of view. Then again I ‘member lots of stuff that suddenly isn’t the case. As the children and their ‘meme’s’ say, life comes at you fast.
Don’t know anything about the nominated Left-tenant (is there any other kind in Minneapolis?) but this as BillC notes, this was an ‘up-yours’ to Mayor “Gang Signs” Hodges re-election campaign (getting the police union to comment on it was a bonus and I’m certain candidate Levy-Pounds already has the message ready to drop with that tidbit in North Minneapolis). They should bring RT Ryback out of 6-figure storage and have him mansplain to these ladies that all this in-fighting doesn’t look good to the Kenwood crowd and the Uptown hipsters. And it certainly isn’t ladylike.

I can honestly say that of all of the female libidiots that I know, none of them are ladylike if they know you are an Independent or a Republican and you challenge their sacred beliefs, no matter how wacky and/or wrong they are.
