My prediction:  The Rio Olympics will be seen as the beginning of the end of the end of the modern Olympic games.

    Good God, it is about time. The games were a waste of time, except for the biathlon. And bobsledding. And pole vaulting.

    The most amusing part of this dumpster fire of an Olympics? The IOC thought Chicago was worse.

    Have been for a century, really. As soon as the pretense of amateur athletics was lost, it became the very thing that de Coubertin detested–grotesque displays of nationalism and a total lack of sportsmanships. Good riddance.
