    Nothing that has been proposed actually infringes on your Second Amendment rights.

    That depends on what ‘Second Amendment rights’ means, Emery. We have expanded the right of the federal government to deny a citizen the right to bear arms.
    The goal of Leftists is arbitrary power. They want to move the needle from the side where the government needs evidence to prevent you from owning a gun, to your providing evidence to them that they should allow you to own a gun.
    I always feel that I need to say this — the gun control people will say that we are in a crisis of gun violence in the US. This is a lie. Gun deaths have been decreasing in the US, not increasing, for three decades.

    How can you possible conflate the President’s statement or proposed action with the government deciding you cannot have your gun? The statement is so clear: all gun sellers must be licensed, all gun sellers must preform background checks, gun manufacturers must be pressed to design and implement better safety devices, and the mentally ill should receive more and better care.

    As George Will observed the other day, I wish I’d been prescient enough to invest in gun company stock in 2009. Every time Obama opens his mouth on gun control, gun sales go through the roof.

    Wait a sec. I thought the whole point of the Obumbler’s exercise in playing King for a day is to curb gun violence. Pray tell how getting more gun sellers licensed is going to stop illicit gun trade? Death by a million cuts, boiling the frog – you pick your metaphor, – that is what braindead amoral and unscrupulous morons like EmeryTheAntisemticSoci@lists are after.
