News: Mayor of Charlotte, NC arrested, charged with public corruption and accepting bribes:
CHARLOTTE, N.C. (AP) — Charlotte Mayor Patrick Cannon, who has been in office less than six months, resigned Wednesday, just hours after he was arrested and accused of taking more than $48,000 in bribes from undercover FBI agents posing as businessmen who wanted to do work with North Carolina’s largest city.
Not News: The fact that Cannon is a Democrat is buried in the middle of Paragraph 2.

Yup! Of course, then we have:
Leland Yee (D) out in communist CA accepting bribes.
Four PA state legislators caught taking bribes to vote no for voter ID. Funny, all four were black, so, the white, female Democrap AG for PA, decides not to prosecute them, because it would seem racist!
Moral of the story; if you want to get away with a crime, make sure that you are black and doing it for a left wing cause!

I suppose one should be glad they mentioned his political party affiliation at all, given it was the PuffHo. The local Charlotte story I saw elsewhere didn’t mention his party affiliation at all.
As BH429 points out, yesterday was a banner day for arresting Democrats. Leland Yee (DEMOCRAT), like most Democrats an anti-civil rights gun grabber, was arrested on charges of… firearms trafficking (among other charges). You can’t make this stuff up.

Best story was the Iowa congresman, who is running for US Senate, going to a fundraiser in Texas…..trial lawyers……well, just to a search on “Bruce Braley” and watch the video. I know it gets old, but…imagine if this were a Republican saying this.

One wonders what his crime really was to get the DOJ to get interested…….was he just dispensable, or…..because we know from experience that the DOJ does not (IRS scandal) prosecute those who could embarrass the President.

Called ex-rep in headline, technically correct, he resigned after being busted. No direct mention that he is a Democrat in the supposedly conservative Chicago Tribune.
