if you’ve got streaming Netflix, watch Van Zandt’s “Lilyhammer”, an entertaining and sometimes humorous look at Norwegians and modern Norway

That could be really good or really scary. Members of the (Young) Rascals demonstrated a lot of talent so I hope that they know their limitations and perfrom accordingly. PBS pledge week usually shows that some memories are best left in the past.
However, I don’t think that Van Zandt would let himself become involved in something questionable. I’m sure a CD/DVD will be released if all goes well.

… and with any luck, they might even score the big gig at Michelle’s and Barry’s place.

Felix Cavaliere of the Rascals got together with the legendary guitarist Steve Cropper and made this very good album in 2008. If he hasn’t lost anything in the last five years, it should be good.

Felix Cavalieri and Dino Danelli were both in the Disciples of Soul (Cavalieri only in the studio) with Van Zandt back in the eighties. That’s going back a ways, but they were both amazing then.
I know Danelli’s turned up on quite a few albums over the years, and he’s still got game. As D notes, Cavaliere’s still doing just fine.
I have no idea where Eddie Brigati and Gene Cornish are, but in terms of technical chops, the band was always about Cavaliere and Danelli anyway.
