Are You Ready For The Surge Of (Counter)Judgement?
By Mitch Berg
Friday, we noted that Cucking Stool, the City Pages’ “Best Leftyblog” for 2006 (and thus either the most overrated blog in the Twin Cities or the most cursed one) hinted at smack to be laid down…eventually. By…someone. About…something:
a small cadre of Minnesota bloggers is preparing to prove it. It will probably start off as just a sprinkle; then it will rain harder, and finally all of the collected grime of empty moralisms will be washed away. Or something like that. It should be fun.
And to track and document this surge in righeous niggling, the Cucking Tool proposed…:
In order that the blooming of the thousand flowers can be collected, Spot suggests using a Technorati tag and/or category “judgmentalism.”
And after a week, the fruits of their “labor” are…
…well, I hate to be, um, judgementalist, but…ow. Cuck – there’s not a lotta righteous, or anti-righteous, Minnesota indignation (counterindignation?), is there?
The moral (or “moral”) world awaits the wave of tribulation. I guess.
Oh, and by the way, Cuck? While I don’t go to you for blazing insight (although the City Pages thinks you’re cute and all, so don’t mind me), I should point out that in my bit about leftybloggers’ response to the death of Norm Coleman Senior, I wasn’t wanting them to send me condolences, as you put it, so much as chiding some of your scumbag friends.
Again, a fine distinction.
Y’know.

OK-I don’t get it the premise. Were those three things posted there collected from other blogs and meant to show “judgementalism”? The first and last were kind of lame, but the middle one was great! I thought it laid it all out pretty well and would make a person think…hmmm…
Oh well.

The point – none of them are Minnesota leftybloggers. The big wave of grotty adenoidal little leftyblog kidz ferreting out galling moral hypocrisy, at D Plus One Week, seems to be pretty nerfy.

…”grotty adenoidal little leftyblog kidz”…That brings to mind as clear a picture as your “alpaca-wearing, Volvo-driving, patchouli-reeking” group! I can picture (and smell) both poifectly.
I don’t undrestand why they care so much about Christian hypocrisy. Is there no hypocrisy (and talk about heavy duty judgementalism!) in Muslims, Zorastrians, Hindus…or whatever? Why do Christians gall so much? A theory (and, I admit, most of my theory’s are lame) is that they know those “gods” are probably bogus, but there may be a chance (something niggles…) that the God of Abraham and Jesus is real and he really will JUDGE. But if, in the meantime, you can stop the yammering on about your sin from people here and now, you can worry about all that later…The same with gays and the church. Just go to whatever church accepts you, lead your happy little lives doing what you want, but do not try and gain approval from the entire world thinking that THEN it will surely not be sin and God will have to agree….after all, if 9 out of 10 PEOPLE have advanced enough to realize that it’s not sin, surely God will decide that he too has to get with the times! I use gays as an example. I state again: I do not care what they do. I do wish they’d just do it and shut the hell up.
