The Need For Victory
By Mitch Berg
It’s been a while since I won anything.
I do believe I’ll attend Keegan’s trivia night tonight.
Here’s an Atomizer’s-eye view of the pub:

I’ll hope to see you there!

Is it typical to do both rounds of the trivia contest on Thursdays?

Yes… and when the Anti-Strib crowd regularly attended last year, we had a run of victories.
😉

I wish we didn’t live so far away (well, sometimes…). When in Minneapolis, we try and stop at Keegan’s for lunch just before we hit the long and dusty trail back north. The Salmon Plate & a Smithwick’s is perfect!

Mitch griped; “It’s been a while since I won anything.”
Tell me about it.

GW lost… when?
Ran and won in Texas… ran and won for the executive branch.

Smithwick’s, mmmmmm.
There will be a contingent of congenitally-irreverent plate-throwers in attendance tonight.

Badda repressed: “GW lost… when?”
Iraq, Katrina, Libby, Gonzalez, Wolfowitz, immigration, bin Laden. Bush is good at getting jobs. Not good at doing jobs.
June 15th, 2007 at 9:14 am
Iraq still in play, Katrina was Blanco’s fault, Gonzalez should go but he wasn’t Bush’s screwup, Wolfowitz did the job he was supposed to do perfectly well and his faults are the kinda thing we were instructed to ignore under Clinton, Bush and Democrats are equally wrong on immigracion, Bin Laden is one leader as opposed to the goal of the war.
That was easy.
Next batch of delusions!

Damn it, Mitch beat me to it.
However, Clown may have one point where GW is concerned… in the last election, the one where he didn’t run.
Although, the last mid-term election of a two-term president apparently often goes against his party… GW, representing the moderate (or even left-leaning) Republicans did lose in 2006 where the more conservative Republicans came out fairly well.

Yeah, nice job Mitch! And 28 percent of Americans agree with you.
June 15th, 2007 at 1:47 pm
angryclown, I would hope some of that leftover 72 percent have less “intellectually challenged” reasons to disapprove.
June 15th, 2007 at 3:41 pm
AC – Bush may be around 30% right now … but the highest-ranking Dem in the land, harry Reid, is only at 16-19%. So, what’s your point again?
June 16th, 2007 at 9:54 pm
No, Trojan Man, I think the vast majority of the country disapproves of Bush because they judge, correctly, that he’s a fuck-up. If he weren’t such a big fuck-up, you’d totally have a point. But he is, like, a huge fuck-up.

angryclown, “Reality Base” called and said you’ve been away too long. 😉
I do wish I could have made it to Keegan’s but I had to wash the kids. :-/
