Note to Amy Winehouse

Ms. Winehouse,

While I do sort of like the retro-girl-group vibe in your new song “Rehab”, I’d like to address an issue of which you might be unaware.

Just because three verses are good, doesn’t necessarily make nine or 22 or 37 or however many nearly-identical verses that song has even better.

I apologize if you’ve heard otherwise, but it just ain’t so.

Hope rehab treats you well.

That is all.

Maybe she listens to too much XTC.

    Mitch,

Clearly, she in fact has chosen not to pursue rehabilitation despite her fathers repeated pleadings.

They’re tryin to make me go to rehab
    I said no, no, no

He’s tried to make me go to rehab,
    I wont go, go, go.

Reading about Ms. Winehouse, I’m thinking it’ll probably be court-ordered one of these days.

Her name is Winehouse – how can y’all miss that, but strain the rehab thing?

Otherwise, yeah, she probably will read the post, take the incisive criticism to heart, and improve her music. So good post.

On Mitch’s second thought, her latest quote:”I’ve done a record I’m really proud of and that’s about it. I’m a caretaker and I want to enjoy myself and spend time with my husband. I know I’m talented, but I wasn’t put here to sing. I was put here to be a wife and a mom and look after my family.” Sounds like a sentiment the Right and Proud should be encouraging – if she reforms, there’s plenty of other page 3 girls to spend time thinking about.

    Kudos to Ms. W.
