The Scooby-Doo Episode I’d Like To See

By Mitch Berg

SCENE:   Velma pulls an “Elliot Ness” mask off of the crook, revealing Governor Tim Walz.

DAPHNE AND SHAGGY:  “It’s Minnesota Governor Tim Walz”

WALZ:  “And let me tell you, I’d have gotten those fraudsters if its weren’t for…”

SCOOBY: “Rose Doggone Resky Kids?”

WALZ:  “No, knucklehead, those ICE agents.  I was just about there!”

Laughing and pointing at Walz like the town idiot is a huge mistake.

Republicans should be wary. Behind the apparent confusion and naivete, his “aw, shucks, I’m just doing my best-est”, Walz is a first rate politician for DemoCommie voters of today along with a whole boatload of so-called independents. He didn’t invent this persona, but he certainly has refined it for today. I’m reminded of this SNL episode about Reagan.

There is a rumored backroom deal that after A-Klo wins the governorship, she’ll appoint Wally as senator. If that’s true (and I don’t see why it wouldn’t be), he’ll never be defeated.

Think about what the DFL owes him. He’s not running for governor, so he can and does take the heat for all his misgovernance knowing that nothing will happen to him. The various instances of fraud literally disappear as election issues. The illegal immigrants with CDLs driving down freeways the wrong way because they can’t speak English? Nothing. So many people think of him as an idiot so he can say stupid 5hit like that Pioneer Press comment above and he will not ever be held accountable. A-Klo won’t be either, of course.

By the way, Ellison is just as good but for somewhat different reasons.

    I don’t know, jdm.

I think there is some anger among the lefties and independents about the fraud. As people see how much their license tabs have gone up, instead of dropping and they begin paying higher fees for anything the government does, things will change. I keep reminding my leftist friends that they’ll be paying for that fraud right along with us republicans and anyone running on the GOP ticket should relentlessly hit them on “affordability”. Even my liberal wife now realizes that when we retire in July, we may not be able to afford to live here. Some friends of ours are moving to Tucson this spring. They bought a 3200 square foot single level home, with a three car garage, a pool and a spa for 74% of the proceeds they will get for their Minnesota home. Their property taxes and income taxes, and insurance costs, including Medicare, are also saving them about $1,100 per month.

Good comments, boss. I accept that there are liberals who understand arithmetic, but I also remember a conversation year ago between Reusse and Soucheray in which Reusse was complaining about the one thing and the other (mostly taxes and intrusive local government) to such a degree that Soucheray suddenly had this eureka moment in which he declared that Reusse sounded like a Republican and asked if he’d be voting for Republicans in the next election. “Hell no” was the reply.

I know there were other aspects to Reusse’s hatred of Republicans, but I would ask you if your liberal wife sees the folly in voting DFL?

PS congrats on the upcoming retirement!

I still think that the backroom deal is a promise to appoint the loser of the Senate Endorsement as the junior Senator as an incentive to forego a nasty DFL Primary. I’m afraid that we’re going to get both Senator Craig and Senator Flanagan.

  5. MacArthur Wheeler Says:

The only DFL constituency that matters is Metro TC, Rochester, Duluth, & St Cloud – everywhere else is tax-farm. The DFL will win the Gov, AG, & Senate races – no one responsible has been arrested and charged and no one will be arrested and charged. They are currently forecasting a surplus so they will continue to do exactly as they’ve done for the last 6 years – figure out a way to empty the state treasury while raising taxes and fees on the tax-farm.

BH congrats on the retirement, now find a better state to live in.

Completely agree with jdm and his Reusse anecdote. Dems always circle the wagons come election time. They’ll rationalize “the long suffering Somali’s HAD to commit fraud to survive”. We’re already hearing things along those lines. And as others have pointed out, there have been no consequences for the high ranking Dems for all this fraud. Two hour Congressional Theater? Big deal, Walz and Ellison could’ve done those meetings standing on their head; they know nothing will happen. They already served up their sacrificial lamb with Aimee Bock so liberals can say “see, justice has been served, stop blaming poor Timmy!” If the GOP cannot win any of the elections this time around with everything that SHOULD drag down DFL candidates, then MN truly is lost and its residents will continue to elect its way to become Cali-Midwest.

So Trump cracking down on criminal illegal immigrants in 2026 prevented Walz from cracking down on welfare fraud in 2022? Do I have that right?

Crazy thing is that with that type of thinking, Walz thinks he’s got half an idea how to run state education systems.
