Is It Just Me…

By Mitch Berg

…or does this

“I’ve issued a warning order to prepare the Minnesota National Guard,” Walz added. “These National Guard troops are our National Guard troops. Minnesota will not allow our community to be used as a prop in a national political fight.”

Asked how he planned to deploy the National Guard, Walz said he didn’t know yet before acknowledging the extraordinary nature of the situation, telling reporters, “We’ve never been at war with our federal government.”

…sound kind of like an insurgency?

The governor sounds like he’s losing his mind.

    What will Tampon Timmy do if Trump decides to take control of the Guard under the Insurrection Act?

    The National Guard, as we all know, is comprised of 19 year old cooks. Seriously though, I’m old enough to remember when President Eisenhower sent Airborne troops to Little Rock AK to help desegregate the schools as ordered by the Supreme Court. Is Mad Tim crazy enough to put armed Guardsmen in harm’s way? Does he know how Maduro got arrested? Minnesota is much closer than Venezuela?

    The video of Walz just yesterday, on this here blog, has him uttering the phrase “the respect we should have for the rule of law.” So he is acquainted with the concept. But it is plain he has no understanding of it.

    A woman tried to run over ICE agents and got shot, exactly as Minneapolis Mayor Frey promised last week.

    An illegal alien led ICE agents on a five mile chase ending outside Roosevelt school where teachers and students obstructed the arrest and got pepper sprayed.

    Minneapolis canceled classes for the rest of the week. The Mayor declared the city off limits to federal agents. The Governor says he will call up the militia because Minnesota is at war with the federal government.

    Maybe President Trump should back down, saying “The Governor of Minnedota has declared the state is at war with the United States. I am ending all federal involvement in Minnesota starting by withdrawing ICE agents, FBI agents, IRS agents, Social Security and Medicare employees, air traffic controllers, Bank Examiners and Small Business Administration loan officers. To protect federal employees, we will not be processing applications for federal student loans, federal farm subsidies or federal highway funds. We will be closing Lock and Dam Numbers 1 thru 3 to boat traffic and closing the Boundary Waters federal wildlife area. Federal activities will resume when Minnesota is no longer in a state of rebellion against the union.”

    I think the Babylon Bee put it best; “Democrats once again threaten civil war to stop Republicans from taking away their slave laborers.” Is Fort Snelling the new Fort Sumter?

    “We also will be closing the Customs and Border Patrol offices to international travelers. The Minnesota offices of the Bureau of Indian Affairs will be closed. Federal meat inspectors will not report for duty. Coast Guard stations will unmanned as will forest ranger and over-the-road truck licensing offices. Oil pipelines from North Dakota and Canada will be shut down. Transmission of electricity across state Iines will cease. The United States Postal Service will not collect or deliver mail in Minnesota. Electronic transfer of funds to or from Minnesota financial institutions will not go through. Federal broadcast licenses for television and radio stations will be suspended. GPS signals will not be available within Minnesota. And obviously there will be no Social Security, Medicare, Medicaid, EBT, or school lunch payments made during this war.

    Mind you these federal employees will not be laid off, they will simply be instructed not to perform any of their normal duties until further notice. Federal functions will resume when Minnesota ends its rebellion and hands over the rebel leaders to Federal authorities for trial.”

    Bigman;
    I’m wondering if someone in Trump’s cabinet hasn’t suggested that he announce just that. Man, I can see the run on underwear already!
