Good take from a non-gun-nut view.
Very worth a read.

Point well made. It’s worth noting that when Nazi Germany was conquered, it was found that a lot of people still had their own weapons, despite the fact that gun ownership had been made subject to registration in the 1920s and banned altogether in 1938, and the Gestapo (along with its successor Stassi) were probably the best at doing this kind of thing.
If the left is really against facism, it needs to let this fantasy go.
Also worth noting is that the Bondi murders were done with a bolt action rifle and (I believe) a pump action shotgun, and someday, terrorists are going to get a few semi-autos across the Timor Sea. At that point, it will get ugly if Oz doesn’t repent of gun control.
