French Kiss-Off
By Mitch Berg
David French was once a conservative, in the same sense that David Brooks was – someone with a solid sense of the principles, but a serious problem with application.
But somewhere along the line, French’s capacity for critical thought eroded away to nil.
For example:
Perhaps.
Now – let’s talk about the destructive and nonsensical application of public health procedures during Covid, which destroyed and rendered nonsensical the respect for what had been until 2020 the most indestructible and sensible of the nation’s instititutions, the CDC?
That might’ve had something to do with it.

The rationalizations over the Covid 19 freak-out still continue to this day (and that’s why we can’t forgive them, because they haven’t even admitted their mistakes!).
Covid 19 may have been a “novel” corona virus, as in new to us, but corona viruses were not a new thing. We see a couple of them work their way the population every year. The countries that followed existing best practices ended up with better direct results AND fewer negative knock-on effects ranging from Krazy Karen’s verbally abusing the non-compliant, learning deficits among children, to suicide resulting from depression due to lack of human contact. Instead, we collectively freaked out and tried to shame the rest of us that resisted the insanity.
The Science was absurd on its face 5 years ago. You cannot state with any certainty that negative side-effects are 1 out of X when you only tested X/2 people. You cannot say anything about long-term effects 10 years out when the study started 6 months ago. That’s not how sciencing works. But instead of listening to the “skeptics” that merely pointed that out, the Faucites tried (and often succeeded) in silencing the skeptics.

Tampon Tim’s health mouthpiece, Jan Malcolm, revealed that she had developed complications from the death jab. Many other sheep that vax, then ridiculed and berated anyone that didn’t get it, either have developed complications from it or died.

My thought on this one is that the conversation is dominated on both sides by those who go far beyond the actual science, sad to say. On the Fauci side, they had a huge failure to apply historic infectious diseases knowledge with things like failing to acknowledge “you quarantine the sick and vulnerable, not the healthy”, “126nm particles tend to form aerosols when sneezed”, and “natural immunity counts towards herd immunity and getting R<1". Almost all of their errors derive from these three basic mistakes that quite frankly ought to be caught by anyone working in epidemiology–and two of them, the first and third, ought to be caught by anyone who wasn't asleep during high school health class. Yes, some of the mistakes were that basic.
On the anti-Fauci side, you have any number of mistakes that can't be defended with science–I'm not even going to go into them, because the list is long.
Biggest tragedy here, IMO, is that with some really basic errors and falsification of evidence, the reputation of public health is going to be in the toilet for years. With other diseases coming through that ought to have a robust response, this one will leave a mark.
