The Ultimate Berg’s Seventh Law

By Mitch Berg

It’s entirely possible that DNI Gabbard is making a mountain out of a molehill.

But if she’s not…:

A president using national intelligence infrastructure fo try to jink the political order is not only an order of magnitude bigger than Watergate – it is the kind of thing that the system bent over backwards to correct, and overcorrect, in the wake of learning all the information J. Edgar Hoover had collected about Americans.

If true, it’s a greater threat to democracy than hundreds of riots at the Capitol, no matter who’s doing it on whom’s behalf.

I may have to promote Berg’s Seventh Law to Berg’s First Law.

Hinderocker at Powerline questions whether any actual crime was committed. He counsels conservatives to go slow, make sure we have solid crimes to prosecute, not follow the Democrats example of bringing silly charges for political effect. He didn’t actually use the phrase “that’s not who we are” but it was implied.

    Sage advice?

^ that is actually a problem that Hinderocker brings up. For example, the strict meaning of treason is invalid as a charge. Luckily, the DemoCommies came up with the notion of “seditious conspiracy” to send lots of J6 participants to jail.

The charges aren’t silly. Hinderaker can’t help himself – he’s always gonna go Marquess of Queensbury on this sort of thing; he still seems to think that the Donks act in good faith, despite over a century of evidence to the contrary – you can trace the arrogance and treachery all the way back to Woodrow Wilson if you’re willing to make the effort.

Team Trump has to expose all this crap and make examples of the miscreants who were doing Obama’s bidding. Obama will not go to prison, but if all of his henchmen/women/he/they/it/what have to lawyer up and a few go to the same prisons where they sent the J6ers, that will be deserved. And most importantly, we can finally put a rest to the enduring lie that Obama’s administration was “remarkably free of scandal.” Chicago pols gonna Chicago pol.

One way to tell this is serious stuff – you have the Deep State Republicans (Cornyn and Graham) calling for a special prosecutor. The purpose of a special prosecutor when the Deep State Republicans are in charge is to bury the story.

I would love to be a fly on the wall in an editors meeting at any of the major media outlet right now.

    Mr D,
If we need a Special Prosecutor…hmmm…Rudy Giuliani maybe? That would rock the crap out of lot of people!

My thoughts are that Obama won’t go to prison, Trump would pardon him to prevent rioting in every major city. But he surely could “pants” the SOB in the interim.

  7. Mr. D Says:

Scott, no, a Special Prosecutor is designed to bury an investigation in procedural red tape and to remove any useful information from public view. Trump needs to let Gabbard stay at it. And he knows it. John Cornyn is not trying to help with that suggestion.

Trump must be pretty sure of his evidence to now go after Clinton.

Agreed that if true, this is a huge threat to our republic. That noted, the way I’d handle this is to take a look and see if there are any crimes committed for which the statute of limitations is not yet expired, and if there are none (which is my hunch), then you simply release the documents that demonstrate the problem–and hope that the nation acts to exclude the bad actors from public life.
