Shot in the Dark

That “State Government Absurdist Bingo Card” Is Getting Very Full

So, with the revelation last week that hiring managers and the MN Department of Human Services need to explicitly justify hiring white (presumably especially male) candidates for jobs, it’s not unreasonable to wonder – there must be some kind of deeply racist person driving these policies.

Your reasonable question has been rewarded with an answer:

The tipster raised concerns about Phillips and claimed his social media page is “littered with racist comments about ‘white folk.’”

After reviewing a Facebook page under the name Vonnie Phillips — filled with the type of content described by the tipster and a video tagging a woman whose name matches Phillips’ wife in public records — Alpha News sent an inquiry to Phillips’ state email address.

In his response, Phillips confirmed the Facebook page was his and lashed out at Alpha News reporter Jenna Gloeb in a profanity-laced tirade defending his posts.

“Good luck,” he wrote. “My Facebook page is within the ‘protected concerted’ activity guidelines, therefore, do what you want; nowhere on my Facebook page lists my employer; and the person, the gutless, worthless coward that reported me, the hell with them, please tell them I said that fool.”

Ooof. Someone played that one wrong.

And played it, and played it…

The worst part, to me at least, isn’t Phillips’s statements or actions.

It’s the culture of bureaucratic entitlement that allows bureaucrats to think that they’re OK acting like this on taxpayer time.

Man, I luv the contrast in the wording of that recall-request sent after the “profanity-laced tirade defending his posts”.

I fully expect some sort of Jasmine Crockett-like declaration email was invented by whyte devils as a way to entrap Black Folx from exercising their freedom of speech.

But they just don’t think it, they know it. They are OK.

Even if they lose their jobs, a vast array of state funded NGO’s will fling open their doors.

Mr Phillips’ education level is on par with his “general business etiquette” level. Of course, that business etiquette level is driven by the entitlement mentality that almost always goes along with public sector employment.

So Phillips is arguing, I guess, that the state has no interest in acting on the apparent fact that one of their top managers is an unrepentant bigot? That comes as news to any number of private sector workers who think twice before posting even something that is borderline because their employers might find out.

Regarding the state’s apparent HR policy “you need to justify hiring white people”, let’s just say it will be fun to watch the fur fly on that one. Hasn’t the Supreme Court ruled that this is illegal? Another way of phrasing it is “Dr. King, please call your office, as Minnesota needs some help understanding how to apply judging people by the content of their character.”

He might consider taking a Dale F*cking Carnegie course. As Greg rightly points out, after a suitable interval, I imagine he’ll find a landing spot with the Wilder F*cking Foundation or somesuch.

I’m betting that there are at least ten people that work for or with this jerk, that are thrilled that SOMEBODY turned him in. They didn’t have the guts to do it themselves, for fear of being cancelled and/or fired themselves.

It’s people like him, doing stuff like that, that makes people like me, think that EVERY Black employee is a token, an affirmative action hire, a check-box placeholder who’s more trouble than he’s worth.

Way to validate the racial stereotype, dude.

Perhaps in his gap year, Mr. Phillips can write a new book, “How to Buy Friends and Abuse People.”

To be fair, Tim Walz did say it was time for Democrats to get mean. Phillips can claim he was “only following orders.”

Alpha News notes that LaVon “Vonnie” Phillips is on leave.

When asked whether Phillips’ leave is paid or unpaid, an MPCA spokesperson replied: “I cannot comment further.”

“Paid leave” is when you get paid but don’t have to show up for work.

“Affirmative action” is when you get paid but don’t have to DO any work.

Interpreted: “We can’t (and don’t want to) fire him, and union rules wouldn’t allow it. So we have to invent another position for him with equivalent pay that isn’t as publicly visible. We have, however, cautioned him about his conversational tone. That said, everything would have been fine if it hadn’t been for you damn meddling conservative kids.”
