    College professor PZ Meyrs desecrated a host wafer woth a rusty nail and called a protest. Andres Serrano submerged a crucifix in a jar of urine and called it art. Why can’t Trump make a meme of himself as Pope and call it a joke? What makes one blasphemous and the others not?

    I’m with Mitch on this one.

    I can see your argument, Greg, but I’m still leaning toward the humor exemption.

    I find it particularly funny that the people claiming to be outraged Catholics believe only in the sacrement of abortion and haven’t dared to darken the door of the church in years, for fear of being struck dead by lightning.

    I’m Catholic, not practicing, but, with the direction that the church has gone over the past 20 years, I thought this was hilarious. I also find it funny that suddenly DemoCommies care about religions other than Muslims.

    As a practicing Catholic, I smirk at the Trump-as-Pope picture and roll my eyes at the drag-queen Last Supper.

    The Left, especially the Left in Europe, can have their fun at Catholics’ expense all they want. At the rate things are going, Europe will be much more religious in the near-future. But it won’t be Catholicism or Christianity that dominates their daily life.

    Last I checked, Catholic don’t go around beheading people stuff like this.

    Over the past century, the hierarchy of the Church has left scant room for new blasphemies.

    The recently departed Il Papa spent his tenure walking along a razors edge between blasphemy and apostasy. And unless I am mistaken (I never am), there’s still a parish in Minneapolis Shitcago that celebrates female fertility rites in spring.

    Trump as Pope? pffft.
