Going Whole Hogg

By Mitch Berg

I wasn’t surprised to see Ken Martin get elected as chair of the DNC.

And since David “Boss” Hogg threw his lot in with the Piglet last summer, I figured if Martin won, Hogg was on his way to, er, “bigger better” things at the DNC.

I was…er, right, sort of.

So the Democrats have decided to cling to the worst of their coalition, and to forefront it. Friedrich Hayek once pointed out that the problem with all large, powerful, nondemocratic institutions — particularly those with left-wing underpinnings — is that empirically, the worst inevitably tend to get on top. It is the nature of the machine, a product of its operation and existing incentive structures. Which is why I re-emphasize how unsurprising David Hogg’s political ascent to internally elected power has been: Given the party’s sclerotically hidebound decision-making apparatus, of course the DNC would find itself turning to someone like Hogg in a desperate attempt to connect with the “youth vote.” David Hogg is an old person’s idea of a young person.

He wrote it so I don’t have to.

And right on cue, Hogg is demanding Musk be replaced by Buttplug (sp?). Because Mayor Pete is better looking, smarter and more likable than Musk. Buttplug achieved so much in his life he can do a much better job than Musk. Please note Hogg does not ask for dissolution of DOGE, just a change in management. Does this mean Hogg supports DOGE mission? I think somebody forgot to give Hogg his meds. Libturdism is a disease.

In the past, Liberals took advantage of Conservative good manners. They said, “That guy is a Bad Guy. You don’t want to be a Bad Guy, do you? Then you must get rid of him.” Conservatives, wanting to go along to get along, did. For Liberals, it worked like magic, bringing success after success.

    It’s a time-tested tactic, Rule 12 in Alinsky’s Rules for Radicals.

So why isn’t it working against Musk? Because fed-up Conservatives are pushing back, saying: “He’s not a Bad Guy, he’s a Bad Ass, and he’s doing exactly what we wanted him to do.”

That’s why Liberals are in such a tizzy. The magic spell isn’t working and they have nothing else in their playbook.

“Boss” Hogg demanding Buttigieg head the DOGE is hilarious. I can see saying “I really think someone else would be better”, but Mr. Maternity Leave During Crucial Events is not only a horrible choice, he’s not even tangentially politically aligned with the President. So he’s apparently of the political view that we need to insist that pigs fly out of peoples tucheses.

@Mitch I do hope you caught the first part of that convention where they were setting the rules to get through the nominating process. It was pure gold. They required gender balance at each stage, then debated how to add the 86 additional “genders” they created, and how to give preferences to BIPOC individuals in that environment. It was 20 minutes of the worst caricatures of leftists that those on the right can imagine.
