Enabling The Addict
By Mitch Berg
It’s become fairly clear over the past two weeks that the MN DFL isn’t playing hooky from the House because they care about Brad Tabke or the voters of 40B.
They are hiding – my opinion, here, but I’ll stand by it – that they are doing it because GOP majorities on committees mean investigaions and public hearings:
GOP rule at sny level will mean looking at harsh truths about Minnesota government.
The idea that 15 years of DFL rule have left it a cold Chicago is hard to assimilate. And our media and establishment (ptr) will work overtime to make sure that soothing notion doesn’t get disturbed.
I think most Minnesotans deep down still think MN is still the state of Humphrey and Anderson, or even Tim Pawlenty and Mike Hatch – that it’s a “Good Government” state no matter which party wins.
And until that happens – until this state “bottoms out” – there will be no fixing Minnesota.

I know that the majority of my family that votes DFL doesn’t believe how bad it is. They’re still focusing on the Bad Orange Man that has nothing to do Minnesota Politics and Governance. OTOH, when I tried explaining Walz’s Stolen Valor (which I’ve heard several veterans call the most egregious example they’ve ever seen), it was brushed away as “Tim doesn’t really know any better.” AKA, he’s a knucklehead.

I disagree. I do not think most Minnesotans deep down still think MN is […] a “Good Government” state no matter which party wins. I would agree that too many do but they are mostly 7-country metro area voters.
Out here where I live, from where coincidentally many of the most energetic Republican leaders come from, DemoCommies were defeated out of principal in local elections.
As to bottoming out, if a guy used California as a metric, this state has a long way to go before it has fully bottomed out. As an example, I would point to the aftermath of the 2020 riots. What aftermath? Yes, exactly.

democrats, with their trifecta, have ushered in their new age for Minnesota. They have made MN a Depravity Sanctuary for the world, but they’re not done yet so ANY Republican interference could seriously upset the emerging status quo. If necessary they must sacrifice the entire session to keep the Republicans in check.
If the Republicans were serious about this fight, as soon as the 40B special election is called they would not just put up a viable candidate, but flood the 40B district with canvassers, mail, and media messaging focused on the necessity for *Honest* representation. Make the Dems spend millions if they want the seat – door to door volunteers in a tightly focused race can make it prohibitively expensive for them.

That’s right PB, IF! They’re not known as the Party of Stupid for no reason.

PB, were the MN Republican party intending to do something like you suggest, that would get me to contribute.

Genuine question that I can’t find addressed anywhere: The MN Supreme Court previously ruled that a special election to fill the vacant seat can’t be called until 22 days after the start of the session. But the session hasn’t started yet and can’t start without a quorum. Isn’t the DFL stuck? They can’t just wait out the GOP majority, because they’ll eventually have to show up so the special election can be called to fill the vacant seat. (right?)

I’m coming up on being gone from Minnesota as long as I was there. Last couple times I went up there to visit kids, it felt completely alien. I really don’t give a shit what goes on up there (none of it is good), but MN has become the California of the Midwest, and the shit that gets dumped on y’all gets spread around the country like a virus.
Honestly, it’s a fucking shit show up there and the degenerates are taking heart.
Since you cannot control your reprobates, it’s gonna fall on us to get it done. I hope Trump appoints an assistant Fed DA up there named Pinochet.
