This Is Today’s DFL
By Mitch Berg
Retired judge.
Illegal “swearing in” (according to statute)
At the MN History Center – after hours. So somehow they got into a closed building to have an extralegal ceremony with an inactive judge, former SCOM DFL steno Kevin Burke.
And not a single DFLer has had the integrity to publicly go “uhhhh, let’s think about this, here…”
Half this state is governed by spoiled junior high kids with delusions of tyranny.

Protecting our Democratcy.
Did they include any photos of the animal sacrifices prior to the secret swearing in?

OK, illegal ceremony led by a retired judge, attended by a number of lawyers “serving” as DFL representatives. Can we say “disbar them”? Not holding my breath, but that would be a just response to trying to usurp the levers of power because they’re having a hissy fit.

Republicans should ignore the fake appointments, open the session, declare a quorum, and begin passing bills.
Let Democrats bring the lawsuit to set aside the legislative acts. Sure, the Democrat judges appointed by the Democrat Governor will rule for the Democrats, but that’s no reason to concede in advance. Make them show their true colors to the whole state. Might help in the purple districts, next time around.

Is it really showing their “true colors” to the whole state if no media source other than someone like an Alpha News reports it?

Big.
According to Niska, Hudson and a few other GOP leaders, that’s exactly what they are going to do. They will refuse to seat Brad Tabke and maybe DFeLon Nicole Mitchell.

Boss,
Mitchell doesn’t have to be sworn in today because she’s in the middle of her 4 year term.
If there is a way for the Senate to unseat a current member, then the GOP should only provide the minimum number of votes to reach the threshold while the rest of the Caucus votes present. Make all 32 current DFL Senators NOT named Nicole Mitchell vote to oust her. Ultimately, it’s better for the State as a whole, and for the GOP. Think of the outrage that would result if the 33 GOP Senators and 1 DFLer voted her out of office (if the threshold is a bare majority, which I hope it’s not). The GOP has a chance at her seat in a special if the DFL kicks her out. The GOP has no chance if they are the bulk of the votes to kick her out.

Smith,
According to four friends of mine who are constituents of the felon, there have been calls from both Dems and Republicans in the district for her to resign. According to them, she’s canceled at least one town hall event and no showed to another community event that she committed to attending.

There have been calls for her to resign from Republicans immediately. The Democrats waited until after the Session was over. Now that she’ll presumably be the 34th vote once 60’s new Democrat is seated, we’ll have to see if the Democrats want to risk the outcome of another Special Election.
