The “Professional”

By Mitch Berg

Luigi Mangione has been “questioned” in the murder of Brian Thompson.

“They also recovered clothing, including a mask consistent with those worn by our wanted individual,” Tisch said. “Also recovered was a fraudulent New Jersey ID matching the ID our suspect used to check into his New York City hostel before the shooting incident.”

Citing a law enforcement official, The Associated Press reported that along with the gun, authorities also found a silencer, fake IDs and writings that appeared to be critical of the health insurance industry, according to the law enforcement official.

The NYPD is sending detectives to Pennsylvania to question the person taken into custody.

His name only sounds like a character in Goodfellas:

Mangione was valedictorian of the Class of 2016 at the Gilman School, and he earned undergraduate and graduate degrees from the University of Pennsylvania. His family owns Turf Valley and Hayfields Country Club, NBC News confirmed.

This one goes out to all the social media detectives who solemnly swore he had to be a professional assassin, who was using a “Welrod” (a purpose-built silenced assassins firearm built for the CIA or MI5 or some such), and that he was just too L3Et to ever get caught.

If he’s the suspect, natch.

While we don’t know a lot more than that at the moment, I’m going to make a few fearless preditions:

  • Like most radicals, he’s a little upper middle class prick who got radicalized at school.
  • He’ll be lionized as a folk hero on the left.

In keeping with the Second Amendment focus of this blog, I’d like to hear more about the 3D printed pistol. I’ve heard of the Liberator – a single shot plastic .22 – but what was this guy using?

And nothing against Silencer Central, but they’re spendy. I didn’t know you could make a silencer from plastic. What kind of machine does it take and where do you get the software? How much would it cost to make my own (in addition to the $200 fee for the Form 1?)

Enlighten me, fellow SITDers and SITDerettes.

    A couple of interesting points:

First, a couple of internet sleuths have been pointing out that Luigi is not the guy whose picture the NYPD released. The comparison clearly shows that Luigi’s eyebrows are closer together.

Second, there was a former Maryland state police commander on with Dana Bash who pointed out something that I’ve wondered, that the shooter seemed to know Thompson’s schedule and was lying in wait. He then speculated that, considering all of the controversies Thompson is involved in, he may have hired the shooter to kill him.

I’m hoping they have their guy courtesy of hubris, and that the ballistics will tell us that it is indeed the gun. (with due respect to the internet sleuths) To be honest, there were times I wondered if the FBI wanted to catch him, and kudos to the sharp eyed guy getting “super-sized”.

I’ve gotta point out that Josh “Too Jewish to be VP” Shapiro had a good statement calling out the disgusting trend of people celebrating this murder. As he said, that behavior is antithetical to a civilized society.

One media report said the pistol was 3D printed. I find that implausible – I’ve not heard of them lasting more than a shot or two.

My semi-informed guess – commercial, low-to-mid-tier auto pistol with a 3D printed silencer, which he didn’t practice enough with, so his action didn’t cycle, so he had to manually re-rack.

I am told a single use suppressor can be constructed from galvanized pipe, some washers and steel wool. As I understand it, the construction could remain effective through at least 10 shots.

I’m not really interested in what kind of “ghost gun” he had, I’m more interested in n explanation of why, if he is careful and smart enough to have constructed an untraceable, suppressed weapon he was clumsy and stupid enough to have still had it on him when the cops caught up with him.

Didn’t he see the God Father? Did he not listen to what Clemensa told Michael?

Smith, we’d be remiss not to point out the hypocrisy of Josh “Too Jewish to be VP” Shapiro opining on the attributes of a civilized society while his people are engaged in the most violent and brutal genocide of the 21st century.

But maybe he’s condemned them, and I just missed it.

Things that make you go, “Hmmm.”

For as “professional” as the hit appeared to be, along with its clever escape route, how did Mangione turn into enough of an idiot to keep all the incriminating evidence.

The photos released of the “person of interest” in the hoody were barely enough for his own mother to recognize him. Yet an employee at McDonald’s – during what is likely the morning rush – can look up and say, “Hey, it’s the guy!”

Some things don’t seem to make much sense. I guess we should be happy that Mangione was actually taken into custody instead of being killed outright.

And yet, Night, the most elite law enforcement agency on the planet still can’t find Umbrella Man or the Capitol Pipe Bomber. Makes you wanna say, “Hmmmm.”

    Bigman – Double Hmmmm.

There were a couple of internet sleuths that have found that he had been emailing a radical anti Israel person that has been bringing illegals into the country, with the covert assistance of DHS, with Mayorkas and his wife, who is another government minion.

This whole thing reeks of a government setup. As an illustration, law enforcement knew more about this guy in five days than we know about Trump’s first assailant, Thomas Crooks, today!

Regarding Kremlin Tom’s claim that Israel is engaging in “the most brut@l genocide of the 21st Century”, that probably comes as news to the Uyghurs in China, various people groups in Sudan and South Sudan, and of course the targets of Russian aggression in Chechnya, Georgia, Ukraine, Syria, and elsewhere, all of whom were targeted in their homes, schools, hospitals, and such–and without the situation that has led to a lot of carnage in Gaza and Lebanon, munitions stored and deployed in homes, apartment buildings, and such.

Back to the topic, I think this is one of those where we need things to play out. I personally see it as entirely plausible that an entitled Ivy Leaguer, product of elite private high schools, would have the degree of hubris to keep a lot of the evidence with him and leave a lot of evidence behind. One thing that is interesting, though, is that some police sources were saying he was obviously a professional. Perhaps that means that the police need to seriously up their game in terms of investigation–or perhaps it just means that somebody needed to buy a clue from Vanna, but managed to get on TV regardless.

Your predictions are so far correct. But it’s kinda of an easy call with how the disgusting democrat leftists/marxists would react. Good call though Mitch. Pretty spot on!
